It dries white and is typically left unpainted on noncontact ceiling surfaces to provide an attractive, simulated acoustical appearance and hide minor surface defects. Just mix with water for easy spray application to achieve a variety of decorating textures. can you mix paint with this product and apply
Thank you for your inquiry. SHEETROCK Brand First Coat flat latex paint or a good quality, compatible latex flat paint may be added for additional hide, bond, and surface hardness of the finished texture surface. Add at a rate of up to 1 gal./bag of texture—substitute for 1 gal. of mixing water.
No, it is not recommended to mix paint with this product.
Yes. We have mixed paint with this product and used it in the past. We diluted the pai paint is thicker than water we diluted it so as not to have problems with it flowing thru the hopper.
what's a hopper gun?
Thomas A hopper gun is equipment used for spray applying wall and ceiling spray texture. The hopper is the container for the texture and a spray gun is attached to it to spray the texture onto the Sheetrock. Hope this helps.
Unit looks like a spray gun with a bucket mounted on top. Best price for a cheap unit is Harbor Freight. Cost me $30 with discount. Have done 4 walls with no problems. However, it will test your wrist strength.
It is a gun and container that is hooked up by hose to an air compressor that you use to blow this product on to the ceiling. The hopper can also be used for blowing other types of wall and ceiling textures ie: knock down, orange peel. It usually has a variable nozzle that controls the amount of texture released while adjusting the air pressure for different sizes of the amount of texture released.

I tried it with a nappy roller. No luck. I went with a cheap air hopper.
No. I wouldn't recommend this procedure. It will not give you a uniform look and it doesn't stick to the wall very well. Get the hopper or buy the other available products for dispersing acoustic. i.e.: cans with a propellent..
