The Su Casa 36 in. x 48 in. Window Guard offers enhanced security for your home. Welded 1/2 in. tubular steel construction maximizes forced-entry deterrence. Available accessories allow you to protect oversize windows and create an interior quick release to enhance fire safety. Mounting brackets are sold separately. For the price - can't beat the value

We ordered various size guards for our home and they all arrived in one package via UPS.
We did read the reviews and the mentioning of brackets (search on HD: "unique home designs black brackets") and a "special tool." The special tool is at least half an inch flat screw drive.
Upon installation we have decided to use our own hex screws. The reasoning was - if a thieve bothers to unscrew the bolts - it will be easier to cut through the "guards."
The metal is rather thin and the "guards" are rather light weight-wise. Some came a bit bent and with scratches, so we had to "touch-up" a few parts prior to installation.
The look is great! At the very least - it's the best insurance against idiotic "fly-by" thieves. At least it would take some time to get through these guards to get to windows. Welding is of good quality - we had to modify two of the screens (reduce them width-wise) and had to cut through the metal and welding spots - sturdy frame and welding job.
The brackets fit in good. Might be a good idea to have an additional person to help with alignment and drilling, screwing. Although, as it was mentioned, these guards are hollow and very light. Cannot tell if they are tubular unless coming up-close inspecting them.
Great value for the price. We would definitely recommend Unique Home Designs.

Easy assembly but metal is thin so security is minimal. The emergency exit mechanism is not easy to install and the brackets should be welded so it functions better. Overall it will work and pass fire inspection but could be better engineered

These steel bars are hollow square thin steel tubes so very easy to cut with a bolt cutter that can easily be concealed under a jacket by any burglar, therefore these bars offer little deterrence; I returned the product and will search for a burglar deterrent window guard made of solid steel bars.

Need to state that a special tool is needed for installation and the brackets should be mentioned on the internet when ordering. Hard to find the brackets on the internet
