Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is, Unfortunately, all steel doors will rust and in wetter weather this can come on sooner. Doors constructed from aluminum alloy that carry a lifetime, rust-free guarantee and are up to 6x stronger than steel are available at Home Depot,

        Love the look..
Awesome door, looks great very easy to install on my front door It wasn't my first choice that one I had at old house went way up in price. It actually worked out better this door uses standard lock hardware which is much more durable. I'll have to see about rust as some have complained my door location is completely covered. So I'll see. Friends think it looks great. Highly recommend at this point.

        Gorgeous Door
We spray painted ours yellow because of the sun design. It was perfect for our chicken coop run.

          Doors will rust in NE
The door is beautiful, however 25% of it rusted in less than 6 weeks. I would not recommend this door unless you live in the desert. This is the vendors response to my inquiry: "Rust is not warrantied. A steel door will rust and is more likely to do so in damp humid climates. ... replacing a steel door with another steel door will likely result in the same issue down the road. We would not be responsible for any labor costs associated with removing and reinstalling the door per the warranty."

"Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Rust is not warranted due to the properties of steel. We can suggest the option of prepping and re-finishing the door to help cover and slow down the oxidation process, but it will continue. Security doors constructed from aluminum alloy that carry a lifetime, rust-free guarantee and are up to 6x stronger than steel are available at Home Depot"

            Door is bent
First time I have installed one of these so I didn't know to check if the door was straight. I bolted the hinge side first and then when I bolted the lock side I discovered it was bowed 3/8" at the center. Assume it was assembled by a trainee, looks bad and security is non-existent

This security door was easy to install and is of very good quality. The only issue I have with it is that the handle/lock mounting area is designed for round devices only with a raised lip and small box area where installed. It doesn't provide adequate mounting area for new-style, electronic deadbolt lock systems. I was able to get around this by fabricating a metal flat plate to fit between the door and deadbolt that extends the mounting area surface area. Aside from this, the door definitely meets my needs and the pickup process from Home Depot was quick and easy (ordered online for pickup).

Recommend you don't buy. Every joint is rusting after three months.
I had the door installed in late December, just three months ago. I live in Phoenix and the door is rusting at all the joints. I called and asked about the door and was told damage due to rust is not covered by warranty. The pictures don't show the whole picture because I couldn't get it to show, but I highlighted where the weld is rusting from top to bottom. I will submit a warranty but the only way I know to resolve this issue is to remove the door. The rust is coming from between the bars and the metal screen. I shouldn't have to paint a 3 month old exterior door that is rusting in the desert. This was about about $450 door and install out of a $3,000 purchase. Horrible experience. We like the potential appearance of the door. I'd be happy if it could be fixed or replaced.
