This door uses a mounting system that projects the door 3 in. away from the home's surface. There is no screen in the patio door.

The projection mount patio door mounts to the exterior of your home above and around the tracks that your patio door and bug screen door slide on. The patio security door is attached with projection mount brackets so there is an approximate 2-inch gap from the frame/track of the sliding patio door to the security door. For most security and if local ordinances allow it, we suggest you use a double cylinder deadbolt to lock the security door to prevent intruders from inserting their hands within and opening the security door.
