If the plant is getting too much sun it may do that, you may want to replace it to a position of afternoon sun exposure being in the Texas heat it'll be sufficient
The overall zone has a minimum average of temperatures of 0° to 10°F. Zone 7a: This subzone has a minimum average temperature of 0° to 5° F. Zone 7b: This subzone has a minimum average temperature of 5° to 10°F. If you do plant it outdoor, I would plant it in a pot so you could bring it inside during the cold season, that way it'll survive. otherwise, it'll die outside with low chances of coming back.
Hello, The aimee gardenia is suitable for outdoor planting in zone 13 where temperatures are above 60 degrees. The gardenia ca be placed outside in your zone, and could be planted, however it must be brought indoors for the winter, or a cold weather blanket must be covering the plant in order to protect it from frost. Best, Andy United Nursery
