Amaryllis are popular for their indoor holiday color and are often given as gifts from October through January. They are super easy to grow and are most impressive flowers. Their huge blossoms can measure up to 8 in. across. They are tropical and subtropical. All you will need to do is plant them up and water. They can be induced to re-bloom indoors for years to come. Our Amaryllis kit comes with everything you need to grow this exotic plant: one large Red Lion Amaryllis bulb, a 5 in. x 7 in. trendy, metallic red, metal, artisan decorative outer planter, a 5 in. nursery pot, planting medium, and a set of growing instructions. As bulbs are essentially storage mechanisms, they already contain everything needed to produce flowers. It is a tender bulb and needs to be planted in pots indoors throughout most of North America. To grow indoors as a house plant proceed as follows: Expand the soil block which comes with the kit, following the included directions, then fill about half the pot with the medium. Set the bulb atop the soil, filling in with soil around the bulb to maintain its position. About the top third of the bulb should be left exposed above the soil level, leaving room in the pot for watering. Amaryllis bulbs like room temperatures, and exposure to sunshine will keep them shorter. As the flower stalk grows towards the light, rotate the pot frequently to prevent toppling. Sit back and enjoy.

A: Your bulb will send up a thick green shoot within a couple of weeks. Buds begin to appear in about a month to 6 weeks, and your Amaryllis will bloom 7 to 10 weeks after planting.

I am heartbroken. The amaryllis bulbs are not growing. If they do bloom, it will most likely be March, I do not think they stand a chance. I am just sick about it because I purchased twelve to give as gifts. I could not be more disappointed.
