Replaced existing Velux with this unit
These 2 units were purchased as equivalent sized replacement for older failed Velux units. The original units had wood clad interior, very nice looking. These have white vinyl interior trim, which is not explained in the description on line. However, they do look nice. They were not quite an exact replacement, and we did have to cut back the shingle roofing about an inch on all sides to accommodate the flange (deck mount). Also, the flashing kit isn't really designed for replacement, just for new installation, so we had to modify that application, but I'm confident it will work fine and has so far proved watertight in the recent rainstorms here in the PNW springtime.

Replacement of 20 year old Velux
Installed 2 replacement skylights within 5 hours. Very well done and looks great. Glad to get rid of the wood frames and the old type glass. These are much cleaner looking and adds a great deal of light to the room.

        Good Look; Quick Install
My roofer recommended replacing my original 20-25 year old Velux skylights when I decided to install a new roof. I was very pleasantly surprised at the affordability of replacing my seven skylights, and also with how quickly the crew was able to install them, even with a minor adjustment to the depth of the interior mating surface. ("Thickness" of new skylight was slightly more than old skylight requiring a half-inch trim of interior surface) Bottom line: I'm very happy with the design, quality and installation of my new Velux fixed skylights and would highly recommend them.

          Great Replacement Skylight!
Had roof replaced and had roofing company replace our old sun beaten plexiglass skylight with Velux skylight and the incoming light is still amazing! Noticed the sun coming through doesn't have the sun heat coming through so I feel that our living area will not be affected by it, so no fading or heating up the area from the sun.

These skylights were installed to replace old skylights. So much nicer than our old fogged skylights! Allows natural sunlight in, gives the room an open feeling and saves us from turning on lights!

My old Velux skylights lasted 29 years! We had to replace them with Velux as quality is very important!

                Incredibly happy!
I replaced four 35 year old Velux skylights that supposedly opened;  only if you had the long pole to do so.  Former home owner did not have one.   I finally replaced all four in late 2020 with the fixed skylights and light filtering solar shades.  I could not be happier!  Since I was used to not having them opened, I chose the fixed skylights and I live in the northeast.  My contractor was able to pull out the old ones and pop in the new ones. I was surprised how easy it was. The new skylights have made the rooms quieter and the low E glass helps with the sun.  The rooms also no longer have drafts from the leakiy older ones. They are a huge upgrade from the originals that were installed in the 80's.

Great Product. No complaints - installed for over a year
I really like these windows. I bought 2 and wish i could have put in 8. They allow a ton of light in and work smoothly. Tip - FOr the frim i used 1x material and planed it down to 1/2 to slip in like the sheetrock would. this was on a rafter roof. Also on a rafter roof install don't forget to drill the proper amount and size of holes above and below skylight so the roof still vents from the eve to the ridge. I think this is a problem for many skylight leaks that actually are condensation issues due to improper installation.
