VENTS MICRA 60 is a Single Room Heat Recovery ventilator suitable for applications such as bedrooms, living rooms, offices as well as apartments and small commercial places. It exhausts stale air outdoors and draws in fresh air to replace it while the heat transfers from the outgoing air to warm up the incoming air. Warm stale air from the room moves through the filter and core and then is exhausted outside. The intake and extract airflow is fully separated. It provides a great solution for simple and efficient single room heat recovery applications. Using the MICRA 60, both cooling and heating season results in considerable energy savings.
Equipped with a high-tech plate counter-flow aluminum heat recovery core, energy recovery efficiency is 79%
Powered by energy-efficient EC-motor that is equipped with built-in thermal overheating protection and ball bearings for longer service life
White polymer coated metal casing contains 9/16 in. thermal and sound insulating layer
Easy access to service the unit, to change or replace filter
Air is supplied to the room and exhausted outside through two 5 in. air ducts
2 built in G4 filters ensure the filtration of supply and extract air; the filters purify the air by removing contaminants, particles and prevent dust from entering the house

HRV unit
This HRV does well. The ductless install works well if you do not want to fool with having to attach it into your ducts.

The product functioned properly and quietly but the templates were extremely poor and the tolerances were too narrow to properly insulate around the ducts.

This was the only single room HRV I could find, so I bought it and it's installed, but I'm not very happy with it.
The good: It's fairly quiet and seems solidly built. The manual is better than most.
The bad:
* It has two motors that will run continuously, so I think it's just a matter of time till one or both fail probably due to a dry bearing. When it fails the question is how to repair or replace it. So I called the US distributor to ask about getting a spare set of motors and controller board for when it dies someday. He said he "would get back to me". I'm still waiting...... several weeks later and after several phone calls to him. So when it breaks someday, don't count on service.
* The switch box is like nothing I've ever seen before. It must be what they use where it's made, but it sure isn't US friendly.
* The interior intake and exhaust vents are just a few inches from each other. Too bad they didn't put the intake at the bottom of the unit and the exhaust at the top, and much farther from each other so that it wouldn't sit there and mostly just eat it's own air.
* The heat exchanger is constructed of sandwiched layers of corrugated plastic. I don't know, isn't plastic a better insulator than a conductor? I think it would be better if the heat exchanger was made out of aluminum, like how air conditioners are made.
* Don't forget to allow for the substantial extra cost of the mounting kit, as it's quite expensive. I think this mounting kit (2 ducts and a double vent grille) should have been included with the unit in the first place, as it's pretty much required to install it.
* Mine came fresh out of the box with some sort of hard to remove brown gunk on the painted front cover that I finally got off with some goof-off and much scrubbing and even some light scraping with a screw driver.
It sort of ventilates the room, but doesn't do a very good job, and has a questionable life span.
When you mount this exterior grille you'll need to figure out how to seal the outgoing and incoming leakage, as there is just an oversized hole. I ended up putting quite a lot of calk on the wall around the slightly protruding ducts and then pressing the grille into the calk.
When the unit dies someday, I'm figuring I'll have to remove it and patch the large holes in my steel siding and in the interior Sheetrock. .. something I'm not looking forward to.
The bottom line for me is: To bad their US rep didn't get back to me about spares. That's the part I'm most frustrated about and why I would definitely suggest people NOT buy this unit in the future, unless like me, you just can't find any other solution.

This looks nice on the outside. Inside the heat exchanger is made of flimsy corrugated plastic -not what I would expect for this price. It has a fairly strong odor which I am not confident will go away. I did not install it- will be returning it. I can't say if it otherwise functions well-I just don't want to try it given that I am very sensitive to odors, and the plastic unit just looks too insubstantial.
