Each board is a little longer than 16ft. That must be to allow for cutting factory edges whenever you have to butt them end to end. The factory edges are not square causing gaps if you don’t square them.

An alternative to PT lumber.
I just completed rebuilding my front porch, replacing some pretty sad looking, 30 year old PT lumber. Just the thought of low maintenance, and a hidden fastener system sold me. I started out using the Armorguard fasteners, however they are very difficult to get into the groove in the deck boards, so I used the Trex hidden fasteners. Installation goes pretty quickly, as I used a Ryobi impact driver. My only complaint is that the very last board had quite a twist to it.

After delivery I noticed some pink discoloration on all of the boards. I thought maybe it was just from how they were piled and hoped it would go away after exposure to the elements. They have been on the deck for 2 weeks now and are getting worse!!!! Don't buy this product unless you want gray boards with pink stripes.

What 25 year Warranty?
I purchased the Veranda decking 10 years ago. Ten years later I have about 4 boards that are defective. Contacted the Spring Hill Home Deport about replacement and getting the run around. It appears both the manufacture and Home Depot do not stand behind the warranty. Also I do not recommend Home Depot for standing behind the warranty and dealing with the manufacture about the warranty. I followed up with the manufacturer and they tell me it is a Home Deport warranty as in Tennessee the manufacturing of the product is by Home Depot again the run around. SO Buyer beware.

Excellent product- It took Fiberon 15 years to perfect it but the deck boards seem to be better quality than Trex basics. The grooved boards with Fiberon clips make for a no nail look which is a big improvement over past decks we have built. Even more amazing is the price of Veranda as it is almost equal to Southern Pine deck boards with lumber at record highs.
