A: Outside on a 4x4 treated wood post.
A: That is either measured incorrectly or you have a nonstandard measurement. Difficult to get a cap for that’s snug!
A: They are only about 1/2 “ inch
A: It’s 3/4 inches. Photo attached of how we used ours to cover an ugly outdoor faucet.
A: The caps I have Marty, 4”x 4” only have 1/2” vertical sides. Buy a couple extras for your project for the future maybe. Good luck
A: Hi Marty, approx. 0.48 in. Thanks!
A: You can use the same PVC glue they use for pipes. Just a small spot will hold it in place until you want it removed.
A: My brother in law holds them down for me when its windy. All I had to do was buy him a rain suit.
A: they fit tight...or you can glue them on
A: Many of these are form fitting and will sit in place as it has a snug fit. If not snug, use clear glue on the inside edges to hold in place.
A: You can attach this post cap either by applying glue or using post top clips.
A: Each cap usually comes with a small tube of adhesive that you can apply to the inside of the cap so it will not fly off.
A: I attach them with 2-1/2 inch screws drilled down through the center of the cap. Adhesives just give out after a couple years and the caps do just blow off at that point.
