A: The caps I have Marty, 4”x 4” only have 1/2” vertical sides. Buy a couple extras for your project for the future maybe. Good luck

A: You can use the same PVC glue they use for pipes. Just a small spot will hold it in place until you want it removed.

A: Many of these are form fitting and will sit in place as it has a snug fit. If not snug, use clear glue on the inside edges to hold in place.

A: Each cap usually comes with a small tube of adhesive that you can apply to the inside of the cap so it will not fly off.

A: I attach them with 2-1/2 inch screws drilled down through the center of the cap. Adhesives just give out after a couple years and the caps do just blow off at that point.

Fits the Veranda vinyl fence post perfectly. I had a piece of Veranda vinyl fence post left over and used it to make a box for my remote weather sensor -- a simple Stevenson Screen. I used this cap for the cover. It fits nicely so I don't have to glue it on. The post cap keeps the wind and rain out of the post and the remote is attached inside with velcro. The cap would work just as well on an actual fence post, of course, but I used another style on the fence.

Railings for front stoop.

It took some help in selecting the items necessary to build the railings, but once done the assembly was quite easy. I am pleased with the outcome, the railings look very nice and add to the front of the house as well as doing what they are designed to do. Very nice product for the investment. A plan page would have helped in selecting the pieces needed for the application.
