Could I use plastic chicken fencing instead of a lattice? Trying to make pest fencing for a raised garden bed, but still able to fold the fence down for easy accessibility. I'm wondering, too, if the screw would stick out the back..
Gardener, Yes, plastic chicken fencing can work well for a raised garden bed and is a good option if you want something lightweight and easy to fold down for access. Using washers with your screws will help secure the fencing and prevent it from tearing. Depending on the screw length, the tip may stick out slightly on the back side, so shorter screws or pan-head screws are recommended. The vinyl lattice cap can still be used as a clean top edge to help keep the fencing straight and supported.
What type plastic is this?
AHudson, Thank you for your question. The lattice and matching caps/dividers are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), not PVC. The color runs all the way through the material and includes UV protection designed to resist noticeable fading for at least five years in typical outdoor exposure. Because HDPE is nonporous, paints, stains, and most adhesives do not adhere well, so mechanical fasteners are recommended for installation.
Does the company have a soultion for the Barrette Boardwalk 2 x 4 panel for an end cap the shelf product will not work as they are a 1/4 opening? TY Scott
This plastic divider & end cap trim by Veranda works nicely with Barrette’s Boardwalk 2 x 4 decorative panels. It’s puzzling that Barrette doesn’t offer similar products. They instead offer expensive frame kits.

Is there a glue to adhere cap to lattice?
Cmb1, the lattice cap is installed using screws. Along the top, predrill oversized holes every two feet through both the moulding and lattice with a 1/4" drill bit and fasten with screws. Do not overtighten the screws.

George, the screws are not included. But we recommend using rustproof or rust-resistant fasteners.
Is the vinyl lattice top cap sturdy enough to act as a side end cap in the ground?
Marcel, We have not tested this end cap to be used in this manner. While it may work, we cannot guarantee that.
