Q:How would you rate this product's ability to hold up in a home metal -working shop situation where it might be subjected to some occasional sparks from grinders or occasional welding activity? Approximate combustion temperature of the material ?

A:  Hi Ben, this mat has been tested for exposure to high temperatures and showed no sign of ignition. When exposed to temperatures up to 1800 degrees F, the material melted at increasing increments, but it did not ignite.       A:  Hi Doris, we recommend the mat for low pile carpet. Depending upon the use, it would likely be too flexible for a higher pile carpet. We cannot guarantee the dog will not chew the mat. We hope this helps!

        A:  While the mat is made to catch dirt and debris, it is not rated to use as a heat barrier or to withstand constant radiant heat for extended periods of time. We would not recommend this where it's exposed to constant heat or a flame. Thank you for the question!
