AnswerThank you for your interest in Very Custom barn doors. If ordering the unfinished door, it should be ready to apply your desired stain. If there happens to be any rough spots on the door, than a light sanding can be done before you apply your stain.

The Good & the Bad

The Good- the door is solid and it was packaged very well. Installation was easy and straight forward. The door is beautiful and we love the dark blue.
The Bad- The front panel and the side panel were not connected entirely so there is a small gap. If it had been stained between the two pieces we probably would not have noticed. Unfortunately it wasn't and that's now what we see. Home Depot was great when I called and stated I would hear from the vendor that day. I asked for a small amount of stain to be mailed to me and I would correct it. It's been two days and I have yet to hear from anyone from Very Custom. I now have to purchase blue stain which is extremely inconvenient.
If it hadn't been for the small issues I would have given it 5 stars. Disappointed that I didn't receive a response. Businesses just don't stand behind their products any longer.
