what is difference between closed head and open head lid?

AnswersIts mounded design sheds water and dust from the top of a closed 55gallon barrel so the container and it’s contents remain rust free and uncontaminated. As we use this item as a fire pit snuffer, it sheds debris from an open head barrel as well.

We use this as a snuffer lid for our fire pit. As we were looking for a fire pit system for our remote property, a barrel section with its top cut off along with this affordable snuffer cover work great. When inverted and in use the cover has a slight slope that sheds moisture. We sleep well knowing we’re not starting a wild fire out there.
