A:  Be careful.. this listing shows two options, a 6" diameter and a 6.5" diameter. The 6" pot is 11.5" tall, and the 6.5" pot shows 6.5" tall. This is per the listing descriptions, I haven't received my order yet so I don't have personal experience.

A:  Mine have not cracked and they have been in the full sun for well more than a year.

A:  Of course they will eventually crack but I’ve had some that are outside in the sun for over a year without them cracking. They have withstood the hot summer sun and winter freezing cold. Good value for the price.

A:  I've been using these pots for almost a year now; so far, none of them has crack! I kept recycling them as I plant & transplant the plants that got bigger.

Great multi pack of starter pots for gardening, saplings and seedlings. I have been looking for a large multi pack of these starter parts for a while now to start my larger plants for planting at the farm or selling at the farmers market. They are sturdy, good size, and held up great throughout the growing process. I’ll even be able to use them more than just the one time because they held up so well through the first round of planting. they have great drainage and I would recommend them to any gardener, beginner or expert, as well as professional nursery use.

These pots really aren't similar to those found at an actual nursery. They are made from a much softer plastic and are not very sturdy. However, I was able to use them for small, household plants on a temporary basis until they are large enough to transplant into larger, decorative pots. In this example, I transplanted an aloe vera from a broken clay pot. The process went easily and the plastic pot has better drainage which should promote plant health.

If I were growing plants at a nursery for resale, these pots would be very acceptable for a one time use. I realize that is what they are designed for, but I ordered these pots for my own use in propagating and replanting my own plants. This half gallon pot is just barely over 6 1/2 inches tall and is 6 1/2 inches wide. It holds 2.5 quarts. If you note the picture, the reddish pot is the "standard" pot you will get when purchasing a 6 inch plant, which is actually an azalea pot. It is a bit shorter than a "true" 6 inch pot. The green pot is a "true" 6 inch pot. The black pot is this half gallon pot. If you have purchased an outdoor plant at some point, you have probably gotten one of these pots. They're actually quite thin and flimsy and are used mostly as outdoor nursery pots. I wasn't quite sure of the size I was ordering at the time, I just knew I needed a size larger than 6 inches. However, based on the quality of this item and the flimsiness of the pot, I really don't know that I would recommend these. If you only needed something for short term use, or POSSIBLY indoor, they may be okay, otherwise I wouldn't recommend

These nursery pots really are handy to have for hardening off plants that were started inside. I had started my cucumber and squash plants earlier in the spring so that they were ready for going into the raised bed in June or July. Then the weather heated up so much that they couldn’t take the heat and hot sun in the raised bed without scorching. I decided to let them stay in the partial shade on my patio in these nursery pots. They have been happy there. I already have a cucumber growing on one. They are half gallon pots so there is plenty of room for the plant. They have good drainage holes on the bottom. They are great to have available for gardening.

Full disclosure: I have been provided with a free sample of 96 Viagrow ½ gallon plastic nursery trade pots for review. I have no affiliation with the manufacturer or Home Depot nor do I know anyone that does. This review is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the free nursery containers. First what I like about these grow containers: I’ve measured the thickness of these pots and compared these measurements to the brand that I have been using. These are nearly twice as thick and the mold they are produced from is nicely designed. The top lip stiffens them up nicely. These factors together provide for a much sturdier pot to pick up and move around. Also, the drainage holes are well designed so that they are higher than the bottom of the base. This results in reliable drainage and prevents blockage when placed on a non-porous surface. Also it’s worth noting that these ½ gallon pots are actually larger and are probably closer to ¾ gallon size. Now for the not so good: I only rarely award products 5 stars that I review and when I do I tend to use words like awesome. Well I can’t see myself talking about awesome nursery pots, but these are really good. The only criticism I have regarding these are that each one seems to have a drain hole that is not completely punched out. Think hanging chads from the Bush-Gore Florida election. It’s really no big deal and they really don’t require pulling them off, but you can if you want. Overall these are nice nursery pots and are reasonably priced. Overall these grow pots just feel more rigid and are easy to move around. I recommend these Viagrow ½ gallon plastic nursery trade pots to anyone or any nursery business that needs to buy in quantities of 96. If you’re using 1000 per year I’m sure there are cheaper ways to buy in quality. If you use more than 20 or so per year it’s probably worth it to go ahead and buy a box of 96. I have no idea of why they are sold in quantities of 96 other than it’s divisible by 12. It seems like lot sizes of 100 would make more sense. You may pay a few cents more per pot but in my opinion they are worth it.

These seem like a pretty good product if you are running a nursery or if you just like to do a lot of gardening. These aren’t made really sturdy, but for their intended use they aren’t supposed to be. This size of pot is a really good all around size for a wide variety of things like rose bushes, tomato plants, and things that are around those sizes. It also has good drain holes to keep from mold building up.

I love these pots, easy drainage so no root rot handy size to develop strong roots. Great to raise a bunch for crop rotation of veggies. To raise various herbs for seasonings and or health reasons. Nice size for giving raised veggies to others. I also have gown to love these as they are easy to cut with a razor sharp knife about four inches from the top and then remove the bottoms and plant in the Garden so that you have a root barrier to prevent various grubs from eating your roots and killing your tomato plants, and or similar.

The ViaGrow 1/2-gallon plastic nursery trade pots are just the right size for starting new plants from seeds through early maturity. Unlike some nursery pots, these are sturdy and provide needed drainage to maintain healthy plants. I used my pots to start flowering plants in the greenhouse and have kept them there through maturity to make sure they are ready for the outdoors and the plants have grown really well.

Perfect size for propagating, sharing and giving away. Or selling. At about $0.60 per pot, don't expect anything durable. This is a one season use and give away. I like to propagate a lot of my plants including hostas and houseplants. I also get ambitious and propagate woody shrubs such as leucothoe and peris. I add these to my own garden, and I give them away. I'm not a pro. However, it is handy to have a pile of pots so I can give some of my effort away without a lot of cost. For my own use, this is also a good propagation size to allow good initial root growth before transplantation. I live in the Southeast USA and I haven't had melting problems, so this is fine for me. Keep in mind you can get much thicker durable pots, but I've found those run nearly $2 per pot. Get these for the use in mind: 1) one season, 2) temperate zones, 3) handy for selling or giving away. Other things to keep in mind: the drainage holes are generous enough to allow a two way exchange if you want place these in a trough for hydroponic propagation. The downside of the generous holes is you need something a bit rough on the bottom to hold your media, should it be fine in nature. These pots appear to be manufactured in USA, but it is not stamped with an origin country, just a state (Ohio).
