Asked by Janie May 2, 2021

Janie: I see no way of selecting "pick up tomorrow", however, when selecting to pick up at the store the store holds the items for several days so you do not have to "Pick up today". I have ordered ahead and picked up the next day. Hope this helps.

How much does one bag weigh?

Asked by GettingSoiled February 6, 2021

20 pounds.

If I were to submit this to a soil testing center, what would the results be for: : pH, P, K, Ca,...

Asked by 6Sense October 27, 2020

We appreciate your question regarding the ph level of your lawn. Optimal pH for lawns ranges from 5.5 to 7.5 (7.0 is neutral). Lower the #- the more acidic the soil; higher the #, the more alkaline the soil. Nutrient absorption is affected by pH. Incorrect pH can affect fertilizer performance and overall grass health. Lime or sulfur should be tilled into the soil to a depth of 4-6 inches. For all practical purposes, lawns can be grown in a soil acidity/alkalinity range identified by pH range 5.5 to 7.5. The lower the number, the more acid the soil; the higher, more alkaline; 7.0 is considered neutral, that is, the soil is neither acid nor alkaline. A soil test is the only satisfactory method of determining soil pH and the proper material and rate to use in adjusting it. The best time to have the soil tested is in preparation of a new lawn. Another critical time for a soil test is when a lawn does not appear to be responding to a good maintenance program. The following are general guidelines for new and established lawns that do not fall within the desired pH range. Feel free to contact us at 1 (888) 270-3714 if you have any more questions.

how many bags of 1 cu.ft.20 soil for a 20ft. row

Asked by Pickles October 13, 2020

I apologize for my mistake. The calculation came to 20 cubic ft, one bag is 1 cubic ft therefore you would need 20 bags for one row that is 20 ft long and 6 ft wide. If the row is only 3 ft wide then that would calculate to 10 cubic ft and you would need 10 bags for the 20 ft long, 3 ft wide and 2 inches high.

Asked by dianerph September 23, 2020

I have never had trash in none of the bags I have purchased. Some people are truly hard to satisfy and they complain about the smallest thing. I have brought at least 80 bags this season 2021 spring and all my plants are doing exceptionally well.

Full of plastic waste
We purchase several bags of Vigaro garden soil suitable for a vegetable garden and potting soil for planters. It’s absolute crap! Full of pieces of hard plastic and shredding plastic bags(black and blue bags) and also wood pieces. Garbage quality. Not impress and will never use of recommend. You get what you pay for! Zero stars from me!!! Home Depot I hope you stop selling this garbage to you customers.

Bag full of garbage instead of soil
I stopped using Miracle Grow two years ago because I noticed the bags were filled with rocks, shards of plastic, big twigs, etc and used Vigoro. The first two years were great - rich soil that the plants loved. However, this year, I noticed that there is more garbage in the bags. A lot of shredded plastic, big rocks and pieces of metal like the one shown in this picture. I will not use Vigoro anymore and do not recommend the product.

Filled with plastic/Overall poor texture
I got this brand because I try to avoid Miracle Gro. Home Depot used to sell Kellogg’s garden soil which was great. This stuff, not so much. First, the entire bag is completely compacted. It makes me think it’s mostly just peat... I literally had to break apart clumps by hand as I was using it. You shouldn’t have to do that with a bagged mix, and it makes me think it’s just going to compact in the ground. Second, it’s completely filled with shredded plastic! (See photo- that’s just from about less than a 10th of the bag!). It’s literally all throughout it. So gross. I don’t recommend this and I most definitely wouldn’t even think about it for use with anything edible.

This a great quality soil for lawns and gardens. This is a proper loam mix containing the right blend of organic material and allows proper compaction while still allowing good drainage. My plants and lawn love this stuff, and I love the reasonable price and quality.

READ the bag! This is NOT a stand alone soil. It must be mixed with normal soil. Do NOT use in a pot. Do NOT touch without having gloves on! I've never been told not to touch dirt before. Just what is so toxic that we shouldn't touch it?? FALSE ADVERTISING on the front claims it's soil. Read the back to see just how wrong the front of the bag is!!!

subterranean termites dirt!!! BEWARE
Had little white bugs pouring from the bags when we opened them. Contacted our pest control company to confirm subterranean termites. These termites were filled in the bags that we put in our flowerbeds up against our house. Home Depot is takimg care of the issue however I will not buy this brand again. Not worth it just to save a buck on a cheaper product. Termites will do more damage
