Q:Can i connect multiple mats together to heat a larger area and be controlled with one thermostat and powered by one power source? The area is roughly 510sqft

    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Heated floor mats cannot be daisy chained but can be run in parallel to the same thermostat. The maximum number of mats is limited to a total of 15 amps per thermostat and we do recommend that each mat run on its own dedicated circuit.

          be extremely careful on install
This mat has been the thorn in my side for 3 months. Our contractor installed this in our bathroom remodel and installed ceramic tile on it. It worked great the first time we started it and then it didn’t. Cold floor. Contractor came back and we called warmup and they sent us a device with a $500 deposit which told us where the break was - so we removed 3 of the newly laid tiles, found the break, fixed it, floor warmed up, relaid the tiles. Cold floor, again. Got the special device again and found a new break, removed more tiles, attempted to fix the wire. No one could fix it. Electician came out and he told us the wires were way too fragile to fix. Soooo we pulled out all the new tile and warmup did replace the heating mat. We bought a “screamer” and placed it on the wire ends during the next install to be sure we knew if a break in wire occured immediately. The contractor was extremely careful and meticulous and this time the floor warmed up and stayed warm. Its been a 3 month saga and an extra $1k in materials ans labor. Buyer beware and be extremely careful and buy a screamer for install.
