Temperature Probe Sensor for Warmup Smart Thermostats

I purchased this probe sensor as a backup to the one that comes with the Warmup Thermostat per their recommendation. Only one is connected to the thermostat but this one is there if there is ever a malfunction and merely needs to be connected to the two terminals at the thermostat. The only thing I don't like about the probe is the outside diameter. It is smaller than the diameter of the heating element that fits snuggly between the dimples in the Warmup decoupling underlayment. This means that it must be taped in place until the thinset and tile are installed. Perhaps Warmup could provide some split sleeve material to eliminate the need for electrical tape. As you can see from the photo below the probe is working and I have tested the floor heating system to my full satisfaction.
