Okay for the price
The saw seems to be of fairly good quality, motor was laboring during cutting 5/32" mild steel, but time will tell how it holds up. I'm giving a three star rating due to the blade being junk with several teeth being knocked off during first time use. You may want to order new blades when placing your order. The price is as good as any in Canada.

Solid product for the serious DIY
Very good portable band saw. I used this to cut metal stair ballusters for a DIY project. The saw was easy to learn how to use and was packaged very well. It is a little heavy so be prepared that this will require a bit of balancing. The weight helps as you do not need to apply force to cut as the tool will do the work for you in the case of cutting metal.
Overall this tool paid for itself by the quality of work I was able to do without hiring a professional.

Bearing blew out after six hours of use
I received this item yesterday and after six hours of use the lower bearing on the inner side blew apart. I dismantled it and noticed that the bearing had blown apart also Causing damage to the front bearing as well. Other than the faulty bearings the product seems to work very well and cuts steel very fast

I have the 10" drill press from WEN. It is well built and powerful. Their tag line is... "Remember w[h]en tools were powerful?" It was an excellent value and I had confidence to try this bandsaw. I bought it to mount for small shop work. I am well pleased with it. On speed setting #1 it was quiet enough to use without hearing protection but anything higher requires ears. Home Depot should start stocking WEN.

5-inch cutting depth requires a relatively large and hefty portable tool, meaning two-handed operation. Objects to be cut generally will need to be fixed or clamped and easy to reposition. The tool itself operates well. If one-handed operation is desired, i.e. for awkward positions or locations, I would consider instead a tool with a smaller cutting depth.
