About This Product

The onboard inverter provides quieter and cleaner energy, free of voltage spikes and drops. Our 420cc 4-stroke OHV engine produces up to 8750 surge watts and 7000 rated watts of power on gasoline, or 7800 surge watts and 6300 running watts on propane. The remote electric start lets you turn on your generator from up to 160 ft. away, with both regular electric start and an included recoil pull starter as backups. The WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor helps protect both you and your family by automatically turning off the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this unit limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.5% at no load and under 1.5% at full load. Our ultra-efficient engine paired with our 4.2 Gal. gas tank provides up to 6.7-hours of half-load run time. The fully-packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120-Volt NEMA 5-20R receptacles, two 5-Volt USB ports, one 120-Volt/240-Volt transfer-switch-ready NEMA L14-30R twist lock receptacle, and one 120-Volt RV-ready TT-30R receptacle. Maximize fuel economy and runtime by engaging the eco-mode switch. The lightweight body weighs 30% less than a traditional 8750-Watt generator, while the included wheel and handle kit makes for easy transport and storage between uses. Low-oil shutdown, combined with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights, safeguard your generator and your electronics from damage.

Q:What is the output pressure of the regulator? I would like to be able to use a 100# cylinder, but that requires a different regulator.

Answer This Question

A:  I called WEN customer service. They do not recommend using a tank larger than 20lb. Their regulator is 1/2 lb and the higher pressure in tank over 20 lb will, they say, damage the diaphragm.

    Fairly quiet.
I haven't had to use it for real yet, but I did break it in. I used a pair of 750/1500 watt heaters for a test load. It responds well to the changing load. When set to adjust the speed to changing load, it is fairly quiet at low load, and gets noisier as the load increases. At fixed speed, it is about as loud as a gas lawnmower. The generator doesn't come with oil. You will have to buy the correct oil for your weather conditions. They include a funnel with a hose attached to make filling the oil easy. They also bring the drain out to where you can get at it, and have to oil drain into a pan. When first hooking up a propane cylinder, you have to manually use the pull rope to "prime" the generator. What you are doing is getting the air out of the line. After that, you can start and stop the generator normally until you change or disconnect the cylinder.

Easy to assemble. Started on 2nd pull (propane). Although I'll only use propane, I like the option to use gasoline as a backup. Very efficient.
