Great Rain/snow boots
The tall rain/snow boots I used for plowing my very steep and long driveway, for over two decades, finally gave out last Winter… I tried to repair them but there were large cracks in the sole around the toe and middle sections allowing snow to sneak in freezing my toes… so, I finally accepted the fact that time had come for me to say goodbye to my loyal long-serving boots 😔
Then, the difficult task of finding another good boots had to be undertaken ☹️… not easy to buy footwear online, specially given my criteria: 1. had to be tall enough to reach just below my knees, otherwise, snow pours in under one foot of snow… 2. The boots’ calf and ankle circumferences had to be wide enough to allow for very thick tall stockings and two leggings 🤭 3. The boots material had to be flexible enough for sliding off of frozen feet with numb hands from pushing a heavy snow plower for multiple hours 🥶 4. The heel had to be 1” to 1.5” (to dig/anchor into snow when walking up/down my sloped driveway) and bottom had to be slip-resistant rubber outsole on frozen snow… 5. Must be light weight so not to cause pressure on active feet… 6. and finally, not to cost more than $100 (with free shipping & return, of course) — which I thought was a reasonable price range given inflation and adjustment based on the cost of my old boots (less than $40)…
I lost count of number of hours it took, and I won’t bother with how many online stores I searched, to find a boot meeting all my criteria… and surprisingly and by chance I found it on Home Depot website… this would have been not even the last place that I would’ve looked for boots… so bought I one a few months ago costing me less than $40 with a coupon.
Recently, with two back-to-back snow storms, I finally got the opportunity to put my new boots to test… They are prefect so far… so, go for one, if you need a good rain/snow boots!
One caveat, I wear USA size 7 and size 7 on this boot is more like 7.5 or 8, which works well if (like me) you need to wear thick stockings…
BTW, they also look good 😊
