Q:Will this spray onto primerd brick? or do I need something more professional for that?
by|May 3, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A:Â The Flexio 4300 is capable of painting pre-primed brick with most water or oil based materials as long as they are thin enough for spraying. For brick we suggest using the iSpray front end nozzle which will require less thinning than the Gravity fed Detail Finish nozzle.

Q:Did I have to dilute the paint so I can spray it or can I use the paint directly from the can
by|Apr 24, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A:Â Thank you for reaching out to us. If thinning is necessary as little as 5% can make a big difference. Use water for water based materials and mineral spirits for oil based materials. Up to 20% is fine. Never exceed the thinning advice given by the coating manufacturer.
- You can also add a flow agent, like Paint Easy by Wagner (this is not a thinner) for latex paint.
- When spraying with the iSpray Nozzle thinning the material is not usually necessary.
- When spraying with the Detail Finish Nozzle thinning may be needed to achieve a finer finish.
- Make sure you adjust the turbine and material flow settings for your specific material need. Make sure your material has been properly mixed and strained.

Smooth Finish, Stealth Speed, Simple Cleanup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the BEST sprayer I have used, period. I found this sprayer to deliver a smooth and even finish that rivals airless sprayers.
Matter of fact, I used the gravity fed unit to fix the mistakes of an airless sprayer I used to paint kitchen cabinets. The airless I used, from a different manufacturer, left me frustrated to the point where I just left the cabinets undone. Yup, kitchen cabinets unfinished. Please checkout the pics for reference.
The other highlights I have to mention are its speed, less than 2-minute clean-up (depends on material, of course), and its controlled overspray. I either used the paint tent to spray within or went just straight to the cabinets because of its minimal overspray.
Please checkout the pics for reference. I am geeked about my work.

No storage option
If I knew that the included bag was too small to store all the parts I wouldn't have bought this. For something I use twice a year that is really inconvenient.

Looks small, but performs large
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this sprayer to finish kitchen cabinets. I went from a stained wood look to a painted cabinet. The sprayer laid down a nice spray, although I would recommend thinning the product. Clean up was a breeze

Nice portable paint system
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very intrigued with a gravity feed sprayer and this was my first time using one. I had to paint a small bookshelf and decided that with the size of the project the gravity feed cup would be a great choice. It was late afternoon and outside temperature was about 80 degrees F. I filled the 600 ml cup half way with paint, connected the 15 foot hose, set the air to Max and paint flow to Med as per the table in the manual since I was using latex paint with primer. I then turned on the turbine base unit and proceeded to start spraying. The first pass looked good but then the output of paint started to sputter and then the nozzle clogged. Since this was my first time with a gravity feed spray system I decided to thin the paint. Once the paint was thinner I started to spray again only to clog the nozzle again. Since this was my first time using a gravity feed I gave up and switched to the iSpray nozzle with the 1 1/2 quart cup. So I transferred the paint from the gravity feed cup and took a practice pass on a piece of cardboard. I am glad I did because I left the air pressure on High which due to the thinned paint put down too thick of a coat of paint. So once I turned down the air pressure to Med the paint came out evenly and I was able to complete the project. I figured that my inexperience along with the viscosity of the paint being very thick probably accounted for my failing to get satisfactory results from the gravity feed sprayer. All in all I am very pleased with the ability to move around that the 15 foot hose provides and the adjustments that are available. I will have to practice some more with the gravity feed sprayer and master its use.

Wagner FLEXiO 4300 Sprayer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Wagner FLEXiO 4300 Sprayer to paint the front doors of my house. I liked the detailed spraying and the light weight of the spray head. There was very little overspray so I did not have to mask off a large area. I first sprayed a primer in the door with the sprayer and followed up the next day with two final coats. I did not have to thin the paint and the finish turned out very professional and glossy. The cleaning instructions were simple to follow and it was easy to clean and did not take long.

Great little package to paint/stain with!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little package for your painting needs! I enjoy the setup of being able to spray paint and stain to whatever my project needs are. The clean up process is very easy for latex and you only need to use mineral spirits to clean up any stains.

Detailed Stain Jobs for Interior Homes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this product, but so far I only used it for two small jobs. I stained a 300-gallon fish tank stand and the canopy top. I stained my front door 🚪. I also stained my neighbor's fence. Great product.

My New GoTo Sprayer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I have only used the gravity feed head with the larger bottle, but already I know that this sprayer will be my goto for future projects. The level of control of both the flow rate of the material and the speed of the air allowed me to lay down a much finer layer of finish than I have been able to do previously with my other sprayers. The other sprayers that I've used are the Control Spray 250, both with the regular and detail nosles, and the Control Spray QX1. Where the QX1 was lighter weight in the hand than the 250 and allowed me to get the nosel closer to the project being finished, the gravity feed head on the Flexio 4300 allowed me to get even closer. Being able to get closer means that I was able to lay down the finish in a narrower width at the project, which let me maneauver the spray around the details of these raised panel shutters better, without putting down a thick coat that took longer to cure and required more sanding between coats.
The air hose between the turbine and the spray head is nice and long. I was able to set the turbine in the middle of my garage floor and walk around to all four panels to get them coated without having to move the turbine. On this project I sprayed a sealing coat of Zinsser Bulls-Eye SealCoat shellac, followed by a few coats of General Finishes High Performance water based topcoat. Using the QX1 I had issues with the SealCoat product being sprayed out in large drops (not fully atomized) and leaving a rougher coat. Not so with this sprayer. I was able to fully dial in the air speed to get full atomization, while also being able to decrease the product flow rate enough that I still had control to get into the detailed areas better.
The wife and I have talked about painting our front door, but I've been hesitent to do so with a sprayer as it's a raised panel door and I don't want any runs due to laying down the material too thick. With this sprayer I feel confident that I can get it dialed in well enough to spray without creating runs, yet still be able to work around all of the details of the raised panels.
As for the other items that came in the kit:
It's nice that they provided a pair of cup liners. Obviously these aren't useful with the gravity feed, but with my past experience in cleaning out these other products I can see how this will help me not to waste so much unused produt when it comes time to clean out the sprayer cup.
Like with many other tools on the market today, the storage bag isn't very good. First time I put everything in the bag and zipped it up the zipper skipped a tooth. I was able to fix it, but it is a rather small and delicate zipper for such a task. Also the bag will hold everything except the turbine. It'd be nice to have a storage container that held the entire setup.

Great Timesaver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I sprayed one of my bedrooms with the large one. Actually spent more time moving furniture than spraying. Also used less painters tape because of the tight pattern i got. I spray my ahutters with the little detail sprayer without taking them down. Just used a piece of a cardboard box to keep overspray off the brick. Overall time was cut in half and I am very pleased with it.

Stain made easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product worked great, used machine to paint door for a bathroom. Painted door evenly and was easy to use and to clean up after use with just soap and water. The spray adjuster made it easier to control how much stain was being used. The motor was close but not in the way when spraying.
