Great Product tech support from Rustoleum. I called to see if I could use this product over the top coat of brushed Polyurethane. Tech assured me I could. Product is easy to use. I use an HVLP spray gun with 30 psi and 2.2 mm tip. Dries fast nice Glossy finish

Works great! Exactly what i was looking for!
This product works great! Easy to apply and looks fantastic! I used this on acacia butcher block counter tops. I used a weathered wood accelerator followed by a light whitewash that I rubbed in before finishing with this lacquer. I noticed it started to pull some of the whitewash up in the first coat but as long as I did not brush excessively it was fine. It does become tacky quite quickly but i didnt find this to be an issue. Brush it on and move on, don’t spend too long brushing the same area or you’ll notice the tackiness causing problems. If your brush starts to drag, dip it back in the can, (you’re probably running out of lacquer on your brush). This isn’t like a thin paint that you brush onto a large area. Quickly work it into a small area and move on. I used 4 coats and it turned out great, super smooth and no sanding between coats. Seems really durable but still waiting to see how it holds up.

Hi Tom, if a white haze is noticed after our Watco Clear Lacquer Wood Finish has been applied, the surface may have contained latent moisture, or the lacquer was applied too heavily at once. To prevent hazing, we recommend applying an even, thin coat over dry substrates. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

I originally purchased this Lacquer to seal some outdoor planter boxes. It didn't need to be smooth, so I used an inferior brush along with a nap and roller. Because of this, I can't confirm if it doesn't need to be sanded in between coats, but it dried quickly and did go on easy with both the nap and $3 brush. Despite my aggressive/reckless application techniques the boxes still look good.

Does not go on smooth. I previously bought the DEFT Brushing Lacquer. But was told you no longer carry it and this was the replacement. Should have kept the DEFT, much better product!

Oh no, that's not what we like to hear. For best results using Watco Lacquer Wood Finish, stir thoroughly before and during use. To prevent bubbles in the finish, do not shake, over brush, or apply with a roller. Apply using a good quality bristle brush or applicator. Allow the finish to dry 2 hours and then recoat. Recoat only when the previous coat has dried clear and feels hard. If any coat has dried more than 6 hours, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper before recoating to avoid brush marks. Apply additional coats following directions above. A minimum of 3 coats is recommended. Give us a call at 800-901-0411, so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right.

The product itself seems to be great but I'm not happy with the finish. It said to use a fine hair brush to brush it on but it left brush marks in the finish after 3 coats. If it can be sprayed it would probably be perfect.
