    A:  That is NOT recommended. The Watco SimpliQuick Tub Fix bathtub stopper needs a strainer body flange (up to 2 7/8 in.) in diameter to either seal down with glue or the pin adapter into working strainer body cross bars.         Not a permanent fix
        When it worked, it worked, but it came unglued not 3 months after i purchased and installed it. I don’t recommend.

        You can contact Watco expert customer care support at 1-800-308-0864 and let them know what happened. There's a 5-year limited warranty and they could possibly send you a combo 3/8-5/16 in. pin adapter if you have working threads inside the bathtub drain and thread the SimpliQuick Tub Fix down into the drain instead of gluing.           There is a 3.1 in. diameter drain out there, although, the Watco SimpliQuick Tub Fix will fit the most common 2 7/8 in. diameter drain.           Poor quality
          Installation was easy but after a few days the rubber seal on the bottom of the stopper has detached and covers the drain so water will not go down. Going to have to pull it all out and find another solution.

            Since there is a grid strainer, yes, the grid will need to be cleaned out regularly. Clogged drains though are a thing of the past. The stopper top is designed to move around as you remove the hair and any other foreign objects that are stopped from going down into the drain.               It definitely fixed what I needed it to. However I was confused because I thought it said it was going to come with the converter screw so I had to order one and wait for that to come in before I could even use it. Also I'm not sure if it's just my shower but after I put it on my tub wasn't draining good at all I was standing in water while I showered so I have to take it off and put it back when I'm done showering. I got it because I moved and have gotten some big cockroaches that I'm pretty sure came through the drain so I do feel like this thing helps with that I think. And the tub stopper works if you wanted to take a bath but for showers I can't say I recommend.
