Series ETX Non-Potable Water Expansion Tank

$ 34 00 /each

Overview

This non-potable water expansion tank is designed for use in commercial and residential closed loop hydronic heating system piping to control the thermal expansion of hot water and maintain system pressure below the relief setting of the relief valve. This carbon steel tank is pre-charged at 12 PSI, tank volume is 4.5 gallons and features a durable expansion membrane that prevents contact of the water with the air in the tank. This rugged butyl diaphragm minimizes loss of the air change and ensures long and trouble-free life for the system. This tank is made of carbon steel with epoxy finish, mounts to supply piping, 1/2 in. MNPT system connection and a 0.302-32 in. charging valve connection (standard tire valve) to facilitate on-site charging of the tank to meet system requirements. The maximum working pressure is 75 PSI (5.3 BAR).

have a hot water radiator system in home. Plumber installed tank and Sweat Valve (supplies make up water to system as required) on the "hot" side of the burner. Should the tankd and sweat valve be on the cold/feed side of the burner? Does this make a difference? There is always water dripping out of the pressure relief line - bucket a day at least. =
Asked by: HotAndCold
check the air pressure on the tank's label and check the air pressure inside with air pressure gauge. adjust as needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and works like it should. Life saver. Very well made. NOTE: If you are a DIYer, be certain all the pressure is removed not only from the boiler but the expansion tank! The boiler meter might read near zero, but it doesn't mean there isn't pressure in the expansion tank. First tank I replaced many years ago, was still charged with pressure and it made quite a mess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good The crimped seam on this in vulnerable to leakage. The seam on mine ruptured and flooded my heat room and basement below it. Get an expansion tank with a welded seam not a crimped seam. This thing caused considerable damage and expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EZ install Hardest part was removing the old tank. It was full of water and was heavy. New one was a breeze to install and now boiler operates within specs and no water on the floor any more!
