Q:We have outward swinging french doors that measure 48? x 80?. It does say with modification these doors can fit a smaller opening. However, can it be cut down to 48? or is there another retractable door that would work better?

Screen Fell apart Already
We purchased this retractable screen to add to French Doors on office space. The screen system has been up for less than 6 months and has already came apart at the top. Reached out to customer service and they advised to adjust the latch slightly down. Loosen the screws a bit and adjust. That’s wonderful other then now I have to pay someone to come back out and do that and fix the screen portion that is falling down. Not happy with this purchase

A Flimsy Product not worth the Pricetag
I bought this last year for under $400, and now at half a grand I can say it’s even MORE overpriced.
Do NOT get if you have “bull in the China shop” kids or pets. Our ankle biter kept forgetting the screen was there and would jump on it to get in. Eventually a hole was made in the corner and in went to ribbons after that. Now it can’t open properly and when it’s closed there is a big gaping opening at the bottom. It’s an eyesore and no longer functions the way it’s intended.

Flimsy and overpriced
Sizing doesnt match door sizes, had to return first one and then buy smaller. Not well supported in the middle so its pretty flimsy, and within 6 months screen has pulled out of track. Wasnt really what i wanted, but not much out there for center open french doors. But i wish i hadnt spent this much money on something that doesnt last a season

Works well, looks great
I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews. But I have to say I'm very pleased with the double screen doors.
The doors slide mechanism has worked flawlessly and I haven't had any issues. I wasn't able to use the included threshold because of my shed setup but that's a minor quibble.

I installed this on a set of double French doors in my kitchen. It is a straightforward installation and not particularly difficult or time consuming but it takes two people.
I had to cut down the top and bottom rails and the sill plate to fit my door opening but the instructions very clearly explain how to do it and how to determine exactly how much to cut off.
I added a strip of PVC molding under the bottom rail as the threshold did not extend out far enough,
So far very happy with the results. I am glad I made the purchase and would recommend this door.
