A: Don’t sit the wood out to dry. It will warp as it dries if you leave the pieces out to dry. Build the deck. Flick water on the deck lightly. If it soaks it up, it’s ready to stain or paint. If the water beads up, wait a little longer for it to dry and try the test again.
A: It all depends on how wide you want the planks. I would personally use 2X8xL. I would mKe the length min 8 ft to 12 ft pending on the length of the porch or deck your making. Just make sure it's pressure treated.
A: You can use any size that works best for you, so long as it's pressure treated.
