Yes and yes. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy the post was after installation, and how nicely the leveling system worked. Don't forget the vinyl sleeve!
Not sure on installing on brick. But it does have a metal post included no wooden post needed. However if you need it to be tall you can add one on top of the metal post.
Tanner - You have this pretty well figured out. You can attach the railing directly to the home you just may need you use different fasteners than what are included. The post mount will replace the wood so you do need need any and our post sleeve kit will go right over that. I would recommend installing the mount before the stone tiles as the concrete will be sturdier. You are correct that you will need to cut the railing kit down but with a Handy Husband with tools and yourself being so well researched this should be easy. Mike - The color you see in the photo, blue, is the final look of the post mount. It is made to slide a vinyl sleeve over it. You should be able to use this post mount with most cable railing systems and a sleeve.
