This filter is 20x25x1. It can be cut to fit smaller sizes. Probably need two (2) of these to make one 25x25x1 filter.

Can i cut the filter and repalce a filter for a range hood?

NO. Range filters are designed to withstand high temperatures; most range filters are made from aluminum. This filter is not designed for high temperatures; To get the correct filter, measure the old one. Into any search engine type in "range hood filter AB x BC"; where AB and BC are your measurements. This should get you started.

Too much air restriction. Use a universal air conditioner filter instead.

I don't believe this will work. The pre-filters that you find in air purifiers are typically a very thin foam, and this is very thick, with a fuzzy green layer on top of the carbon layer.

Not 20x25x1!
I'd you need anything bigger then 19x24 don't get this! I wanted 20x25 like the labeling states. Doesn't even fit in the vent.

Good cut to Size Furnace Filter especially if you get two out of the pack!
I was having a hard time finding a 12''x 12'' furnace cold air return filter until a nice Sales Lady from my local Home Depot suggested this filter (WebAbsorber 20 in. x 25 in. x 1 in. Odor Control FPR 5 Air Filter) so I could make mine to size. I was able to cut two of them at the size of 12'' by 12'' and that made it a good value. If I had not been able to cut two I would have felt that the filter was a little high priced for my application. This filter has a good filter medium and an easily sizable plastic grid. I will buy another one next time because they work for me.

It doesn't seem to be helping as much with odors as I would have liked. I can say that it does fit perfectly. I didn't need to make any adjustments. What's strange is that the filter is not actually attached to the plastic frame. They give you these weird clips that you are supposed to push through the filter to attach to the plastic frame. It was hard to use those clips and I gave up and used some twister bands. Poking holes through the filter is also not easy. You can't just push the clips through, if you decide to use them. You'll need some scissors or a utility knife to make the holes. After this, I think I'm just going to make my own frame from cardboard (or try to reuse this frame) and attach a generic carbon filter (which can be bought in bulk), as that should accomplish the same thing for a lot less money.
