Contact cement is probably better. It's used by shoemakers to make repairs. I've also used a product called Shoe Goo that's excellent.

Can this glue hold rubber to metal that is under stress?? Like a speaker?

Asked by: Chris
I used Welbond to adhere glass bricks together, so they could stand straight. So far, they are still together and the glue did dry clear, which is one of my requirements. The application description does not mention metal or rubber. You may want to check out other glues before trying this one for your specific need. One negative feature of Weldbond is it's applicator. It popped off of the bottle and keeps popping off. Poor design! I tried contacting the manufacturer in Canada, but could not make contact. Just a run-a-round!!

While I believe it would work, i don’t think its the optimum adhesive for this purpose. I would go to an auto parts store or dealership and ask what kind of adhesive they recommend. I suspect that it will be one with more flexibility when cured than this product.

Can this glue be used on vinyl or rubber to wood?

Asked by: jude
I believe it will. The only surface I've found that it won't work on is a waxed one, such as prefinished plywood.

It is the only glue that has no smell. It dries nicely and none of the pieces ever come off. I usually work on wood. I will send a picture of my most recent piece I made.

Used it for many kinds of wood, fabric and leather repair of antiques. The joints on our dining room table, circa 1910, loosened up many years ago. I knocked it apart, cleaned the old glue up and glued and clamped it up using Weldbond. Solid as a rock since then. I purchased some recently from Home Depot to tighten up some wobbly drawers in a dresser - worked great.
