Westbrass garbage disposal air pressure switch in matte black finish, this is a very simple way to add or upgrade to your existing garbage disposal. You need to drill or punch a hole in your countertop to fit the pressure switch in a location that would suit you while using your garbage disposal. Attach the clear air hose from the switch to the plug in unit. Plug it in and push the button to operate your disposal. Very simple and clean installation. I have had one installed downstairs for 10 plus years with no issues, it is water proof at the switch so no worries about water getting into the electrical service.

I ordered this Westbrass Matte Black Garbage Disposal Air Switch for our soon to be new house which doesn’t have one. These things are great - I installed one in our current house a couple of years ago and we love it (see photo). Installation is simple once you have drilled the mounting hole with no tools being needed - all the connections are made by hand. If you haven’t used or seen one the switch operates by depressing the button with pushes a puff of air through the flexible tubing to the actual switch enables electrical current to flow to the disposal motor. Push it again to turn the disposal off. They can pretty much be mounted anywhere - on the counter, in the soap dispenser hole, on an adjacent wall; I’ve even seen one mounted on the false door panel on a sink base. No more trying to remember which wall switch to flip or bending over to root around for an under sink mount location. The Westbrass button unit is nicely finished and hefty for its size - read that built to last. The switch box is also well constructed with an extra receptacle should you need one. Not sure about the color but the wife insisted. Who am I to argue?

I needed a switch that was longer to go through...
I needed a switch that was longer to go through my granite counter top and the sink. The Sinkerator brand was too short and the adapter piece was over $40.00. I purchased this one and it is long enough, easy to install and I really can’t tell the difference between the two as far as quality. I would purchase this one if you need the extra length.
