The Westek TM1609DHB Heavy Duty Daily Mechanical Timer is the perfect way to add programing functionality to lights, heaters, fans and other devices. This device is easy to program with directions on the dial and non-removable pins to represent 30 minute intervals that can be programmed with up to 24 On/Off settings per day. Dual outlets lets you control 2 devices with a single timer. Great way to add safety, security and convenience by controlling lights and other devices while owner is away from home. The front mounted On/Off switch allows for easy manual operation. Max load 15 amps, 1875 Watts resistive. I was very impressed of the sturdiness of the time. It is well built and quality material.
On the Timer, you have two 3 Prong plugs on either side if the Timer - NO MORE RUNNING AROUND FOR AN ADAPTER. There is a bypass switch on the timer that allows you to use the timer or bypass the Timing mechanism.
To use the timer, you first must rotate the timer to the current hour (time numbers AM/PM are easily visible.) Then you just push the pins down for the hours you want the timer on. If you want the timer on from 6:00 PM to Midnight - you push the 6, 7, 8,9 10 & 11 pm pins down. Plug it.
The Timer will hold 1/2 HP and 1875 Watts. Clear instructions to run the timer are on the face of it!

I actually got this to use on a heated water bucket for my ducks. However, when I received it, it clearly states indoor use only. I might have tried it outside anyway since my duck bucket is under a roof, but it won't fit in the outdoor outlet which has the receptacle behind a gasketed door. Soooo, I am keeping it in the house and am using it on some of my Christmas decorations so the lights activate around 4 and deactivate at midnight. The time is very easy to set. The first order of business is to pull all pins out and then push in the pins for the daily times you want power to the outlet. It has a neat feature which overrides the timer at the push of a button if you want constant power without unplugging anything. It conveniently has outlets on both sides so you can run more than one device without a splitter.

All the lights in my house are set with indoor timers. This provides safety for myself when it gets dark, and alerts people that someone is home, whether you are or not. I like that the instructions are on the dial, so there is no need to save the packaging. Also the pin are not removable, so you don't lose them. There are two outlets so you can have multiple lights come on. The timer is set at 30 minute intervals. I use timers at Christmas time to turn on my tree and mantle lights.

I have 2 old timers that have removable clips that turn it on or off. They still work ok, but I lost all but one set for each timer, so I can only have one on/off cycle per day. This timer is much more flexible and I can't lose the pins that make it go on/off. Also, this has a 3 prong plug so I guess it's able to handle more power and is safer. I use timers on my security cameras so I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn them on when I leave.

I have several timers in my house and I like to have a spare on hand for when one breaks or an extra one is needed such as with Christmas lights. This is a lamp or appliance timer that appears to be superior to others I have seen. It is heavy duty, meaning that you can plug energy consuming items such as a portable heater in to it without concern for overload. The timing pins are permanently installed so they can't get lost. The instructions are printed right on the dial. How many times do you have trouble remembering, if the pins are out does that mean the timer is on or off? Now no need to remember, just read the label. There is a pin for every hour so you can have a lot of on/off combinations. It also has two outlets so you can plug in two things at once if you so desire And it has three prong outlets so it will handle anything that has a three prong plug. They thought of everything.
