On our 3rd 80 GAL ELEC WH WEC080C2X045 6832630
I bought 2 80 GAL ELEC WH WEC080C2X045 on 6/15/2018, one for our home main level, the other supplies the kitchen and laundry only. 1 started leaking around the base within 6 months of install. Westinghouse sent us a replacement which has lasted 2 years 6 months and is now leaking around the base. The second of the original water heaters from 6/15/18 caught on fire in lower element compartment on Christmas Day 2020. We got store credit for that one because we didn't want another of those water heaters in our home EVER! Always trusted Westinghouse products but will never have another of their water heaters.

We purchased this unit 2.5 years ago; was great for the FIRST YEAR
For the first year or two, this was a great unit, then we started experiencing times that the water wasn't hot, but it was sporadic. Two weeks ago we were totally without hot water. We ended up having to replace 2 thermostats and 2 heating elements! The heating elements were pitted and full of holes. Our plumber said that he had never seen a hot water heater less than 3 years old have heating elements in such poor condition; he felt that the elements had to be sub-standard in the first place to not last even 3 years.
Westinghouse told us that the warranty on parts ends at 1 year - in spite of the "lifetime" wording in the overall description of the unit - the only part that is guaranteed to last 10 years is the tank itself.
I was extremely disappointed that Westinghouse products have slipped to this degree of substandard quality and that their customer service is unable/unwilling to assist any more than they were.
This experience has made me determined not to purchase anything from Westinghouse again.

Install was easy. Buy a pan for bottom of water heater - glad I did. 2 years and 1 month after install, there was a leak at the top electric element, where water was eating away the metal. There were no wires touching the metal, but that's what is looks like. Cheap parts. Removed the bottom element, and same thing was happening, so I needed to order 2 new elements. I called Westinghouse and they said since the unit warranty was never registered, parts are only guaranteed for 6 months - not sure how a company can only offer a 6 month guarantee on a $1,000 water heater? We have acidic water, however the neutralizer is well maintained.

With a family of 6, and our current 50 gallon water heater in a failed state, we decided it was time to not only replace, but upgrade as well. We chose this Westinghouse, 100 gallon, stainless steel tank water heater due to its size and long warranty coverage. This water heater was a special order because of its' size. The expected delivery date was 7 days post order. To my surprise it arrived in three days and we were able to have hot water once again. I went to my local Home Depot to pick it up and gather all the items I needed install it. The plumbing staff was extremely professional and helped me choose the most suitable option for my specific needs. I utilized pre-assembled hoses which were constructed of a 1/2" SharkBite fitting with 1/4 turn ball valve on one end, stainless braided hosing, and the appropriate fitting (3/4") to attach to my water heater on the other end (included in the attached picture). Not only was the water heater easy to move and place in position, the assembly of the unit and plumbing was a breeze with the hoses I purchased. The temperature adjustments on each of the heating elements are easily accessible and clearly marked for adjustment. I have roughly one hour of assembly/plumbing time in installing this unit. Since I installed this unit, about a month ago, we have yet to run out of hot water even after 6 consecutive showers. We are extremely pleased with our choice/purchase and all my expectations with this purchase have been met. I appreciate Home Depot having this heater as an option and having knowledgeable staff on hand to help me choose the best options for installation. I will end with a big thank you to Home Depot for their military pricing program. It is a little bit easier supporting my family through the discounts afforded to me for being a military veteran.

Our water tanks usually last 5 years or so. Wanted to get water tank that lasted longer. Figured a stainless steel water tank would last longer.
Terrible tank so far. First one lasted 6 months. Rust was leaking out of bottom. Customer service was great and they send us another hot water tank. Had this one professionally installed too. The next one started leaking at 6 months too. Costumer service was great again and sent us another water heater. We are on well water with water conditioner. Had water tested and it is fine. The base of the bottom thermostat had rusted out. Installed the third hot water tank. Praying this one will be a good one. Lifetime warranty is no good I’d keeps leaking.

Bought this in February from Home Depot, this is only July and both heating elements went bad. They say they don’t need anode rods in these,I disagree. I’ve read other reviews that have the same problem.Replaced both elements and thermostat just to be safe.Have not contacted Home Depot or Westinghouse with issues because I installed it myself.I don’t want to go through the hassle of the telling me I should of had a licensed plumber do the work but I work in a electric utility for over 20 years and replacing a water heater isn’t brain surgery. We will see what happens in the next few months with this heater.Right now it is no stars.

started leaking and bottom element burned up, literally, within 9 weeks of installation. Home Depot passes the buck to Westinghouse, who won't do a thing since home owner installed (not licensed plumber). Ironic though, since purchased at a store that markets to home owner. No accountability.
