Alloy II 52 in. LED Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan

Awesome fan. Super easy installation (for a fan). I love that it does NOT have a remote control, but still has modern look, AND uses LED light bulbs I can pretty much buy anywhere. This will sound silly, but run very quiet- no vibrations, no need to balance them. I bought two. Love them both.

Buyer Beware. This is not a typical ceiling fan. First off, the blades are mounted on top of the motor rather than below, as with other ceiling fans. Mounting the blades on top means they are 2 to 3 inches closer to the ceiling than normal. This is a problem with the included 4 inch down rod, as it doesn't provide enough clearance for proper airflow. Being so close to the ceiling, a suction is created above the blades which prevents air from moving downward as it should. Instead, you'll notice air moving sideways (outward) directly beneath the blades. So if you're expecting to feel a breeze below the fan, you'll be quite disappointed. A remedy is to install a longer down rod, assuming your ceiling is tall enough to accommodate longer than the one supplied. I replaced mine with a matching 12 inch long 3/4 diameter brushed nickel down rod from Home Depot for only $11.97 which is a perfect fit. Another concern I have is the weak motor used. Will it last 20 or more years like the stronger motors used in higher quality fans? In order to use a smaller, weaker motor, the manufacturer set the blades at a 10 degree tilt rather than the typical 14 degree. On the plus side, a smaller motor means the fan is noticeably lighter than a comparable one. Next, because of the unusual design, the fan must be fully assembled before installation. This makes it cumbersome to install, especially with six blades. Should any of the blades become loose, as they tend to do, it's almost impossible to tighten them without removing the entire fan. For my own installation, I applied a thread locking fluid on each screw, then tightened them extra hard in the hope they won't come loose. Time will tell. Another problem I had was with the balancing weights. They flew off the next day, even though I had cleaned the blades and ensured I pressed them on tightly. I glued them back with 3M Super Strength Adhesive (which is no longer sold). I now recommend Loctite Super Glue Gel Control. It's much easier to apply than normal super glues, and you don't end up with a messy crinkled tube as you use it. Lastly, the chain pulls are flimsy and light. To me, this is yet another example of cutting every corner possible. Westinghouse probably saved only a few pennies. It bothers me when a company is so cheap that it does everything it can to cut costs rather than produce quality products. I replaced mine with better ones I'd saved from a Hunter fan--the owner had replaced the originals with decorative ones. Home Depot stocks a variety of decorative pull chains to replace the cheap ones which come with this fan. The quality originals from Hunter suit me just fine. All considered, I don't recommend this ceiling fan, nor any Westinghouse fan. I don't like needlessly switching to a new design when older designs have proved themselves in the real-world over many years. I'd much rather go with a design that has endured the test of time, rather than being a guinea pig for a company with minimal experience building ceiling fans. Especially when that company cuts every possible corner they can find.

This is very good looking fan that also works great. Assembly was really straight forward. The only thing that made it a little difficult is just the size of the thing. This is a pretty big fan. Installation was like most fans with a hook on the bracket to attach the fan to while wiring it up. The LED lights are bright. This is not an integrated LED light, it has standard light sockets and comes with two LED bulbs to install. Nice amount of light. Fan works great. Good air flow without being breezy. Also, fully assembled and installed, it only hangs down about 14 inches from ceiling so I won't bump my head on it.

Excellent product. I love it

Fantastic fan. Looks great and moves a lot of air (almost too much, but more about that later), and the light is bright unlike other fans. For starters, this is a great ceiling fan for the money. It looks wonderful and my wife absolutely loves it. We had it installed in a fairly large workout room in our basement (approximately 14 by 23) and have it wired to individual switches that control both the fan and light separately. There are no windows in our workout room, but the light provides more than enough light to completely illuminate the room. The fan has 3 speeds, but the low setting is more like medium if you ask me. In short, it pumps air like you wouldn't believe. We have no need to set the speed any higher. We have 10 foot ceilings in the basement, so if you have a larger great room on your main level with higher ceilings, you shouldn't have any concerns at all about whether or not it can move air sufficiently. Great looking? Check! Easy to install? Check! Bright light? Check!! 2 thumbs up for our needs. Highly recommended.

A little bit hard to assemble

Good size fan for medium to large rooms. The LED attached light is very bright and will last many years. The nickel finish gives this a very nice look along with the choice of two fan blade finishes adding to the custom look. Six blades and extra fan size will move more air without too fast of a motor speed. The only drawback is the LED light is not dimmable.

Beautiful and quiet
