Product Overview

The 800-Watt Wexstar Infrared panel heaters are economical to use and an environmentally responsible alternative to 1500-Watt heaters. Using the same principle as the sun, Wexstar infrared heaters generate Infrared rays which are gently distributed uniformly across the room, and are absorbed by objects and walls that release the heat back evenly creating an overall feeling of warmth. This maintenance-free heater are built to last and can save up to 45% on heating costs. Great for bedrooms, offices, kitchens, basements, etc. The heater is ideal for rooms up to 250 sq. ft. Can be used for residential, commercial or industrial applications.
  • Conventional heaters heat the surrounding air, hot air stays at the ceiling and the heat is distributed unevenly; Wexstar infrared technology works more efficiently and evenly by heating objects rather than the air, and using a fraction of the electricity
  • No fan means 100% quiet and no stirred-up dust, ideal for people suffering from asthma or allergies
  • Can be mounted on the wall, or on the floor with Wexstar stand support separate accessory
  • Easily plug to a standard electrical 120-Volt outlet and does not require any professional installation
  • Wexstar heaters are free of maintenance and no further costs or parts to be replaced
  • Less than an inch thick, do not take much space and are easy to relocate

Questions & Answers

Can this be used outside under a covered patio?

Asked by supercharger February 10, 2021

The Wexstar Heaters are designed to be used in an enclosed insulated space, so that the infrared heat emitted by the panels may be contained within the room. If used outside the heat would dissipate and it would not be nearly as efficient.

Asked by Mks December 5, 2020

The Horses should be warmed up with the 800W panels just above them. As you mentioned the heaters will not fully heat the room completely as it is not insulated, but the horses will be able to feel the warmth from above. The heaters can also be mounted using a hang ceiling installation system with chains or wires, (these hardware parts may be available through Home Depot and are not included with the unit) This hanging system would allow to hang the heater higher or lower having it closer or further from the horses based on preference.

What is the radiation angle from the panel? Does just it radiate right in front of the panel or s...

Asked by Midi510 December 3, 2020

The angle at which it heats is about 165 degrees, although within an insulated room the whole room would be equally heated after some time. Like all heating devices, this will always vary depending on various factors such as room insulation, outside temperature, central heating, additional windows and doors, ceiling height, etc.

Asked by Heat November 9, 2020

Yes. It gives off some heat but the IR heater doesn’t heat the room. The concept heats the person. This is heater makes you feel warm even with a fan moving air. Both heater and humidifier should be ok in a 15 amp receptacle.

Can it be used on screened porch? That strength needed for 125 square feet?

Asked by Andy October 1, 2020

Thank you for contacting us regarding Wexstar, The Wexstar Heaters are designed to be used indoors in an enclosed insulated space, so that the infrared heat emitted by the panels may be contained within the room. If used outside the heat would dissipate and it would not be as efficient.

Does this heater cycle or is it a constant draw of 800 watts per hour?

Asked by Jake September 30, 2020

It is constant heat, drawing 800 Watt. It can also be used with a Wexstar plug-in thermostat that it would turn the device on and off depending on the desired room temperature. More information about the plug -in thermostat at https://www.homedepot.com/p/Wexstar-Plug-In-Thermostat-for-Portable-Heaters-and-Air-Conditioners-TH-926T/310601904

Asked by Rick August 9, 2020

The heater takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the full panel surface heating temperature. Although you do feel a pleasant heat when you are close to the heater, it does require some time to heat the whole room. The heater produces a non-overwhelming gentle source of heat.

Asked by BG April 1, 2020

Wexstar heating panels use far-infrared heat; They produce 99.82% of its output in the 6 to 10 microns range. Wexstar's heating technology operate strictly within the healthy and therapeutic region of the invisible infrared spectrum. They can be used in a sauna room as long as the room is insulated and the wattage to room ratio is proper to the temperature you expect.

With how many volts does this run?

Asked by Tom March 5, 2020

Wexstar Heaters runs at 110 Volts.

What temperature does the surface get to? An infrared thermometer would answer this immediately....

Asked by Lenny March 3, 2020

The front of the panel usually heats about 199.4 F / 93C degrees, the panel must get hot enough in order to heat the room properly. The heater can always be placed high on the wall or ceiling. The option in black will be available soon.

Garage game room
Seems to work quite nicely in our garage. I live near Ottawa, Ontario (thus cold) and the unit has been installed in our garage for my son to use as a music and game room.

I like the concept of how this works. I wish Home Depot had a higher powered heater. 1000kw or 1500 kw would be more intense and useful in a larger room.

I really was looking forward to testing this infrared panel, as I've heard so many good things about infrared heating in general. This unit unfortunately was not working for me. Even standing 3-4 feet in front of it I couldn't feel any heat in my body. And I waited quite a long time. Maybe there was something wrong with the unit.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is "We apologize that you did not have a satisfying experience with this heater. Wexstar is a heater that functions with infrared technology, it heats objects rather than the air similar to how the sun warms you up. Because it does not contain a fan, the heat it provides is designed to be therapeutic rather than overwhelming making sure it heats the room and objects slowly and evenly. If you believe to be an issue with your unit please don’t hesitate to contact us, we will investigate it further. Thank you!"
