Specifically designed to be mobile, the Whynter ARC-148MHP portable air conditioner can be easily setup in almost any indoor location and is most commonly used in data closets/server rooms, bedrooms, classrooms and garages/workshops. This ARC-148MHP portable air conditioner and heater provides superior 14,000 BTU cooling output while maintaining a compact and portable profile. This unit features advanced self-evaporating technology, which uses and recycles moisture collected during the cooling process to produce cool air and minimize condensate build-up. It also features an auto-restart function which it automatically restarts on the previous settings after power outage. Additionally, the unit can also be programmed with a 24 hours timer to activate or shut-off at preset times. This unit also features a separate dehumidifying mode that enables it to be used as a room dehumidifier as needed. A 3M Filter and Silvershield washable pre-filter are equipped standard on this air conditioner to help keep the cooled air cleaner and fresher. This highly functional unit combines smart styling and impressive cooling output for the most demanding applications. Its programmable features, operating modes and versatile design makes this unit a great option for keeping rooms up to 500 sq. ft. cool and comfortable (ambient temperature and humidity may influence optimum performance).

I cannot get warm much less hot air out of it. also, the venting tube is bulky, semi difficult to position well due to its short length and the connector keeps coming off the window holder. I will likely be returning for a refund or replacement with a different product. I have already had to return the 10,000 btu unit from the same manufacturer. note, it may be they don't travel well being shipped which is in itself a huge problem if thats the case... sorry. on a good note, it is pretty.....

Terrible customer service
Units do not cool space as described. Our particular unit stopped working at year one. Called company and was directed to ship unit to California. I live in NH,shipping cost would have been well beyond the cost of replacing unit. Beware. No local repair shops available unless you live in California.

Brand new with a musty smell
We bought this portable a/c and it smelled funny when we turned it on. We thought the smell would go away as we ran it more often, but we’ve ran it a dozen times now, and it still puts out a musty smell. Any insight there?
