Product Overview

The ME Series residential electric forced-air furnaces are the perfect choice for new and replacement installations. The compact, multi-positional, modular design allows the unit to be installed in up flow, down flow, and horizontal applications and greatly simplifies attic installations. The furnace features an energy efficient maintenance free 5-speed adjustable ECM blower motor, and is A/C and heat pump system ready. The newly designed cabinet has flush sides, is sealed and insulated for quiet operation and air flow efficiency. The heat kits are easy to install and have heavy gauge coiled nickel-chromium wire heating elements. Units are factory assembled, wired, and tested to assure safe, dependable, and economic installation and operation. Requires dedicated double-pole circuit breaker(s), appropriate gauge 240-Volt wiring with proper polarity and ground.
  • Energy efficient ECM 5-speed blower motor is permanently lubricated for maintenance-free operation, and provides higher SEER and HSPF ratings on A/C and heat pump systems
  • Designed for use with both air conditioning and heat pump systems; match the width of the evaporator coil to the width of the air handler
  • 20 kW heat kit has two 60 Amp double-pole circuit breakers
  • 5 year standard limited parts warranty - 10 year limited parts warranty with online registration within 90 days of installation

is the unit complete only ductwork remaining?

This is a residental Forced-Air Electric Furnace, and it does require a new, or existing, properly sized ductwork system to operate properly. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 800-879-0123.

My house is 3100 sqr ft is there an eletric furnace that would work for my house and can a ac work for that size also using the original ducting that.

It would be best if someone local has a look at your current system and ductwork to determine sizing of the equipment and whether the duct system is adequate. 22.5 in. H x 24.5 in. W x 21.5 in. D. are the dimensions of the air handler. The electric heat kit is designed to be installed into the air handler cabinet in the field upon installation. Upflow applications will require a field supplied return air base for side cold air returns.

is this unit good to be used with heating and air for a completely new area (addition 1300 sq ft).

What is the total wattage consumed? What size breaker is needed?

At 230 V, the unit is rated at 19.2 kW. The heat kit has 2- 60 amp double-pole breakers that must be wired to the same size breakers in your breaker panel. Hope this helps.

Do you have to buy a heat kit separate to make this work?
