WindyNation's 400-Watt Solar Kit includes everything you need to get started: four 100-Watt Solar Panels, User Adjustable LCD 30-amp Solar Charge Controller with Battery Temperature Sensor, 40 ft. of UL Listed 12 AWG Solar Cable, all necessary PV Connectors for wiring (1 Pair PV Connectors and 3 Pair PV Branch Connectors), and all the necessary mounting hardware (16 Solar Panel Mounting Bracket and Fastener Sets). Hello! I will be a new solar owner and trying to get some questions answered before I purchase. I am interested in this 400-Watt Off-Grid Kit with LCD Charge Controller. First, do I need to purchase an inverter and 12 volt battery separately? Second, I plan to use my solar for my mini-frig and would like to make sure I have plenty of juice in my battery. Can I add more batteries, say 2 more? Would I need them? I look forward to your response. Thanks!

You do need a battery and an inverter. 2 gel batteries, 200 a/h would give you all you need.

Do I need to disconnect the solar panel controller while charging the batteries through the inverter using a generator or normal power, or is this system protected by diodes or fuses?

you should have a fuse between the solar charge controller and the batteries anyway for safety. If your Inverter/charger is wired directly to the batteries (not through the charge controller), you should not need a diode

What setup would I need?

I am curious what all I would need or what available kit I would need that would have enough power for me to hook up both of my 16 SEER AC units. I would like to have the solar panels cover the majority of the daily power consumption. Is there even a kit available where this would be possible?

In order to size a system for the AC unit, we would need to know the power consumption (in watts) and duration of operation per day (in hours)
