Product Details

Wolman 1 gal. Classic Clear Above Ground Wood Preservative (Case of 4) for use on above-ground wood installations (especially non-pressure-treated lumber), to protect the structural integrity. Prevents mold, mildew and other fungi attack and dimensional change caused by water absorption. Proven to extend top-coat service life.
  • Pre-treatment by dip method before installation is recommended, also designed for protection of deck or porch floor end cuts
  • Covers approximately 150 sq. ft.
  • Classic clear
  • EPA-registered, fungicidal preservative protects against surface mold, mildew, rot and decay
  • Water repellent resists water damage: swelling, warping, end-checking

Q:I ordered a case of your product. I also have Abatron LiquidWood 2 Part Structural Epoxy Wood Hardener and Consolidant Resin for restoration of some siding. Are your products compatible? Do I apply your product first for best absorption and then Abatron?

    Answer This Question

    A:  Take a garden sprayer, new if possible, mix 50/50, Boiled Linseed Oil and Mineral spirits (Paint Thinner) into the sprayer and spray the Cedar. Apply 2 or more coats and let dry. Then the clear wood preservative, brush or another sprayer. Re-apply once a year.

      A:  We like how you think, Linda! Rust-Oleum Wolman Woodlife Classic protects against rot and decay by inhibiting mold, mildew, and staining fungus growth on the wood surface. It has excellent water repellency and anti-wicking properties. Topcoating this product is optional; this product can be painted over or stained. This product will extend topcoat service life by inhibiting peeling and blistering.         A:  I've soaked wood in this product overnight, and then used 1-2-3 primer on it after a couple of days. So far, so good after a year.
