Prevents small animals from attacking bird feeders
Steel construction with powder-coated finish for longevity
Compatible with 1/2 in. to 1 3/8 in. diameter pole
Product Details
The Woodlink original patented 18 in. Wrap Around Squirrel Baffle prevents squirrels and small raccoons from raiding your bird feeders and scaring away birds. Perfect for yard hangers and poles already installed in the ground.
When the squirrel baffle is pole mounted, it creates a rounded wall that blocks the squirrel, raccoon or chipmunk from climbing up to the feeder, the wrap-around design allows you to attach this add-on without disassembling your bird feeder or bird pole
Textured black powder coated steel construction with steel coupler withstands the elements
Installs on any 1/2 in. to 1 3/8 in. Dia. pole, for best results, mount at approximately 5' high, below the feeder or bird house
Included metal coupler clips easily around the pole and the baffle which also clips easily around the pole, rests on the coupler
Q:How do I get the mounting bracket to stay put in one place instead of sliding down the pole every 2-3 weeks, requiring reinstallation? This is very annoying and if it keeps up I will just have to buy another product.

Answer This Question
A:Â Try wrapping duct tape around the pole at the height you want to install the baffle; be sure the metal coupler is installed on the duct tape.

A: Tighten the bracket more that the bonnet sets on. If that doesn’t work, take gorilla glue and apply it inside the clamp, tighten it as much as you can, let it dry and that should work. I have two bonnets and they both work great and don’t slide down my pole.Â

A:Â Pole too thin. Take a piece of plastic from a bottle and fill in space so bracket tightens

Q:How do you attach the support for the baffle? Do you have slide any part of anything to get it installed over the top of the pole? That would be impossible for my situation...

A:Â There should be a metal bracket that attaches to the cone by screws. The wrap around is the placed over the bracket and fitted together. Not clear? Call me 410-451-5100

A:Â Attach the support to the pole at the desired height and tighten the two screws (provided with the support). Then wrap the baffle around the pole and attach the two slots together. Job finished.

A:Â The support is in two halves and goes over the pole. Â The baffle freely rests on top of support.

A: Baffle comes with a sort of strap that tightens with a screw underneath it around the pole; hand-tighten, and you’re all set!

Q:Would it be possible for me to retrofit this type of birdfeeder?

A:Â I do the very same thing with one of my bafflers. I comes with a screw on 'adapter' for smaller poles. I put this on the cable. This sits about 12" over the feeder and works great no squirrel problems anymore. They still try to get at the feeder, but soon give up. Hope this helps.

A: I am not sure what retro fit means but it doesn’t have much flexibility. It fit perfectly on my wrought iron pole and kept the darn critters from going up the poLE. They jumped from the fence onto the top of the pole. At that point, I gave up. Shot 2 of them dead but there were plenty more. Great if they can’t jump from above. Jan

A:Â Yes it would be possible but too time consuming and expensive when Bird Watcher Supply Company makes an overhead squirrel baffler that is attached to the chain and you hang your bird feeder below the baffler. You can install it in about fifteen minutes. Sorry Home Depot; in this case it is not the thing to do.

It was easy to install and seems to be doing the job! Made sure the bird feeders and their poles were 8 feet from any bushes or other jumping platforms. Haven't caught any more squirrels on there yet after 2 weeks watching. I like the color and materials seem sturdy.

The squirrels jump on top of the cone and relax while emptying our feeders. We’ve tried moving the cone to various places up and down the pike with no luck

worked fine once I had it at the right height and figured out hot to secure it to a 1/2" rod.
it took a bit of engineering to find a clamp that would sit underneath the dome on a 1/2" square pole/rod/shepherd's crook, but once I did that, and had it at the optimal height, the squirrels are confounded! It is kind of amusing at times to watch them try (and fail) to reach the feeders.

Easy to install but difficult to secure on slanted pole, so still trying to figure out how to make it work. Our feeders slant out from deck on a pole; this product meant for perpendicular use.
