Lid fit tight and does the job but the quality...
Lid fit tight and does the job but the quality of the plastic seems less than that of the bucket itself. If one was to step on it or throw it around it would crack. Not construction site compatible. Be gentle.

The lid is adequately secure for people who are careful...
The lid is adequately secure for people who are careful and deliberate. It is very tight at the 4 corners, but it has some loose tolerances in the middle/straight portion of the bucket sides, loose enough to slip a finger under the lid in those regions without the lid popping off. Accordingly, this lid will not prevent a little paint from spilling out if you slosh the bucket around (or a lot of paint spilling out if the bucket capsizes). It is not airtight so I wouldn't use it for storing longer than a few hours. The lid can support the weight of a heavy object and placing a heavy object on it will help the lid seal better against the bucket.
