Answer This Question

A:  I do not know, I used Behr masonry and stucco paint and it was awesome, you might want to contact the manufacturer of the paint and request an answer from them, it might benefit you better.

Q:What is the best roller for sealing the driveway using water based sealant.
      by|Aug 18, 2022

      Answer This Question

A:  The 14" x 1 1/4" Super/Fab could be used to seal a concrete driveway with water-based sealant, however, the 1 1/4" nap may be much larger than needed for a concrete driveway. We might suggest using a 3/4" nap knit. We offer several knit fabrics that would be great for this project. You might be interested in our 14" x 3/4" Super/Fab (see internet number 304294139) or the Wooster Pro Surpass Knit 14" x 3/4" (see internet #320164331). Q:What type of 18” roller cover should i use for lightly orange peel textured ceilings AND walls in eggshell finish? Also which 18” roller frame? Cover
          by|May 31, 2022

          Answer This Question

A:  The 18" x 3/8" Super/Fab is an excellent choice for a very lightly textured ceiling. The 18" Pro Wide Boy Roller Frame (see product #309063311) would be an excellent choice to use with this roller cover. Please do not hesitate to contact Wooster Customer Service at 800-392-7246 should you have any questions on the best applicators for your project.

I got the Wooster 18" roller to stain my deck. It took me a while to actually get to it as I had a 'bucket list' of projects. But once I started, this roller whipped through the job in no time! Because of its thick 1-1/4" nap, it held a ton of stain, which made reloading the roller easier. Plus, the thicker nap allowed the stain to penetrate into the little cracks and between the seams easier. And the 18" width meant that I only had to make a few passes! The only drawback is that the end caps didn't fit my 18" roller frame. Good thing I had an old roller. Just popped off the end caps of both and replaced the smaller opening ones with the bigger opening ones.

This is a HUGE roller! The good news is that it soaks up a lot of paint and you're able to paint LARGE sections in a short amount of time. This would be great for young professional painters, but not so much for old DIY people like myself. Once it is full of paint it is slightly heavy to lift and roll. But it does roll smoothly and is great for coverage, it doesn't drip very much. We have a stucco type of house, and it did a great job of getting into all the little nooks and crannies. So really good coverage of paint on the walls. The bad news is that when it is full of paint is that it wastes a lot too, via the minor spray off (not too bad, but I did have freckled arms afterwards), paint left over in roller pan and when you go to clean it. It took me awhile and a lot of water to get it cleaned. But if you're young and have the stamina, you could probably paint a whole house in a few hours, well at least the bulk of it, not including detail work. I used it to paint a quarter of our house in a fraction of the time of the other walls. I imagine that if you could keep going then it wouldn't be too bad with wasted paint, just keep filling and painting. But if you have to stop and rest a lot like myself, and have to clean it in between each uses, then that would be what I mean about wasted paint. (Just to clarify it)

The roller is made a little better than most. The nap is very good and doesn't shed. The roller itself is structurally stronger than smaller rollers with the ends capped for strength. If I had to do large jobs often, I'd give it a better review, but because of the extra width, it's harder to carefully get into areas near trim and ceilings. It's pretty heavy loaded up for ceiling work.

The WOOSTER 18 IN. X 1-1/4 IN. SUPER/FAB roller cover will be the perfect roller cover for my parents old Tudor style home the finish is wavy and jagged. Wooster is the only brand roller covers I buy I've used their 3/4 inch. the last time I painted their home they never shed, even rolling over the Sharpe edges . I 'm looking forward to see how many passes it will take to cover the homes rough finish I bet (1) !

I'm in the process of renovating my living room and used this paint roller to paint the walls. It has a very thick 1-1/4" nap on it which worked very well and made a nice, smooth finish. They're plaster walls in a house built in 1874 so they're a bit wavy and bumpy. What I really liked about this roller is because it's thicker, it made it a lot easier to get in all the little valleys on the wall without having to press too hard. It also holds a lot of paint so you don't have to put paint on it as much as shorter nap rollers.I think it would be great for textured ceilings as well. I like 18" rollers in general because they save so much time being so wide. I use Wooster brand rollers all the time because of their good quality and excellent results. This roller is no exception.

This was my first time using a roller with a nap this long. I like the fact that this roller holds a ton of paint. I used it to apply a thick latex primer to an interior brick wall and fireplace. The nap was long enough for me to get pretty good coverage in my mortar joints. This roller cover is super fluffy. And the fact that the brush holds so much paint made it very easy to get paint on the wall and then work the paint into the joints with a stiff bristle brush. This is a really nice roller for heavily textured surfaces. I have no doubt that this roller would be awesome for painting cinder block. This is a great value for a roller of this quality.
