Answer This Question

A:  I would contact worthington the manufacturer. Second choice, take your empty gas bottle to a plumbing supply store. They can determine your valve diameter and provide the correct seal.

A:  No idea. If not Home Depot (parts special order) I would contact Worthington. ATBster

Q:What is the “Country of Manufacture” of this tank? Is it constructed in the USA or elsewhere? Is the “OPD Valve” made in the USA?

    Answer This Question

A:  No idea. I bought it (and later a 2nd) to replace an out-of-date tank on our boat in San Diego. We were living aboard at the time and used the outdoor grill regularly. These tanks were fabulous, and about half the price than the Nautical Jewelry Store (West Marine). We sold the boat about a year ago. Good luck! ATBster

              Answer This Question

A:  I own this tank. I estimate the tank empty is 20 lbs and it holds 11 lbs of propane so around 31 lbs full. That seems about right as I’ve picked it up many times going camping.

A:  Using a bathroom scale mine weighed approximately 24 lbs.

Q:What extension hose can i use with this tank to connect a bernzomatic ts8000 blow torch tip? thanks for a model & name of hose

                        Answer This Question

A:  I'd contact bernzomatic for the hose if you only have the tip. The connection to the propane tank is universal. It's the connection to the torch tip that is what you need to find out from bernzomatic. I have a torch I use to burn weeds and the like and it works well.

A:  To connect to the tank, you use a standard connector same as for connection to a gas grill or to a Mr. Heater propane heater... not sure what the Blow torch has for a connector...But many adapters are available from Mr. Heater or Coleman...

A:  I believe it is the same hose you use to hookup your portable gas grill. I use a Weber hose you should be able to buy at Home Depot. Has the big green knob you screw to the tank and the other end is a male fitting that should fit your blow torch head.

I like this size better than a standard 20lb tank bc of the portability but enough capacity that I don't have to refill frequently.

The propane tank fits snugly behind the passenger seat in my golf cart and is connected to my "Little Buddy" propane heater. It keeps the cart interior at approximately 65 degrees in 35 degree windy weather.

                              Steak's on the grill
This size is very hard to find, and it is great for grilling as often as we do. It fits under the table nicely. It only needs refilling half as often as the 5 lb size, yet it is portable.

Good value, but the support rim was dented. The box looked OK. It must have been shipped that way. It is currently in use. I did not attempt to return it.

I was disappointed to see rust around the handle and base welds. Not what I expected on a new tank from Worthington industries. The 20 year old tank that I was replacing, because I could find no one to recertifiy it, looked just as good.
