This 20V Axis Reciprocating/Jig Saw 2-in-1 gives you a whole lot of tool(s) for the money. There's no need to buy a separate reciprocating saw and jigsaw when you have an Axis. Worx engineers figured out that those two saws actually employ a similar motion to get their different jobs done, and designed a way to put that functionality into one tool. So you get the raw power of a reciprocating saw (3000/min of no-load speed) to tear down structures, but then the head folds down into the base to give you more balance to make those intricate cutouts that only a jigsaw can perform. Plus, there's no cord to get in your way, so you're free to move. And at only 4.2 lbs, you can work long hours without getting hand and arm fatigue. The jigsaw is made to cut through wood (2" cutting capacity), PVC pipe (2"), and steel plate (5/32"). While the reciprocating saw also cuts wood and PVC pipe at 2", but steel pipe at 2", too. And they both have a ¾" stroke length. With a built-in dust blower, you'll always see the shapes you're cutting in jigsaw mode. And the safety lock-off switch prevents accidental starting. A:  Hello Rick. Thank you for your question, for tackling a larger task I do recommend purchasing a higher amperage battery or an additional battery. WORX offers high capacity 20V 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah lithium batteries that will increase your runtime with twice the amp hours of our standard battery. By purchasing this tool it will include a standard 2.0ah battery and charger. -DestyneeE

        A:  If you have any other 20v Worx batteries they will work with this tool. However I was surprised at how long the the 1.5 Ah battery which comes with this tool lasted. I have fast charge battery chargers from previous Worx purchases and use them all the time. The standard charges take too long.

                A:  I ordered the saw on line and picked it up at Home Depot. I wanted a lighter saw that would still do the work I needed. It arrived with instructions and two blades. I was able to trim branches easily. I was pleased with the performance.

                  A:  See the picture. The large blade is 5 3/4 with a four and three-quarter cutting surface. The next is an inch smaller, the last two ate 3 1/4 with a 2 a 3/8 cutting edge. The second is label timber the third aluminum and the fourth steel. In the first the label were off except for Corte but there is a picture of something that looks like a 4 x 4. Maybe it’s a 2 x 2.

                      A:  WORX does not directly provide jigsaw or reciprocating saw blades for the Axis saw, however, it will fit any blade of these types as they are universal. You may use any jigsaw or reciprocating saw blades found in your local hardware store.

                        One of my favorite tools
                        I love the ease of using this tool and how quick and easy it is to change blades, but beware, the quick change lever is a thumb biter, it could benefit from a larger area to put your off hand when using as a reciprocating saw.

                          Two tools in one!
                          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have some experience with Worx, since I bougth an electric wire trimmer years ago and still is working in perfect condition. I liked this two function saw because you can have two tools in one. As you can see in the picture it can cut a log of almost 4" without any problem! I also cut a sheet of cardboard with second function as a jigsaw. Next assignment will be a series of 2" PVC pipes that are going to be installed at home. I am very happy with my new Worx tool and I recommend it!

                            Nice saw, I use it around the house/home onwer.
                            Works great as a home owner for small jobs around the house,bought a prunning blade for it,to trim some small tree branches. Bought your large tool bag to store it in(WA0079) Also from my local fishing store I bought a Plano model 3700 plasic box to store my blades in.It fits in the bag with plenty of room,I had bought the smaller bag first but it was to small,will use it for other things.

                              Versatile and Nice Feel
                              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent home tool that can probably handle a few small professional jobs. It was ideal for a project where I needed to blow open a couple square holes in some Eucalyptus Hardboard. The light and dust blower are very good features. I wasn't crazy about the battery life per use. I had to put an extra day in the job just to cut a total of four 15.5" squares out of 1/8th hardboard. It's a balanced tool but could probably stand a bigger battery pack. Otherwise multiple batteries are likely needed.

                                Awsome for pruning Queen Palms

The tool is very easy use and we'll balanced. Below is the branches I cut and re-cut to fit in the bed of my truck still had 2 bars on the 20v 4ah battery.

                                  Very Versatile tool
                                  I have used a variety of saber saws for at least 50 years. While it is not a tool that I use everyday, it does get its share of use. Here are my comments on the new multipurpose by WORX. My first impression was that it was a strange looking contraption but that quickly disappears once I picked it up and took a closer look at it. The first thing I liked was the heft of it. Solidly built. With the battery in place it balanced well in the hand. Changing from saber saw to reciprocal and back, quick and easy. The sole plate is a solid one piece rigid enough to allow a person to :plunge cut"(meaning - you can put the toe of the shoe on the work and slowly lower the blade into the work - softer material please) without losing control. It has a second plate just behind the first that adds to stability while scrolling. While making long straight cuts is typically not the primary function of this type of saw, there is adequate clearance to use an external guide as there is no slot in the base shoe to attach one (see picture for examples). The saw scrolls easily in plywood and almost as easily in heavier stock. Working in heavier stock (as in 2X4 type wood) the solid base helps hold the blade perpendicular. The built in light helps keep you on track. On the reciprocating side, I do not currently have any major project going so I used it to rip up some old 2x4's. The saw zipped right through them quick and easy with minimal vibration. As I had some trees that could use a little trimming, I then brought the saw out into the yard (did I mention cordless?) to see what it might be able to do. What I needed cut was in the 2" - 3" range. It zipped right through those as well. So in summary, here is a combination tool that will work extremely well with scroll work, fairly well in straight line cutting and overall is well suited for the average DIY person or home handyman. Don't forget it's use as a yard tool as well if you don't have a jawsaw. I would recommend this tool to anyone who has around the home projects or for that matter, even a tradesman.

                                    Great dual duty tool
                                    This is a great tool. In the last few weeks it has been used for trimming the palm tree, cutting boards for repairing a step stool, removing a counter top and cutting a PVC drain pipe. It is easy to change the blades, light weight, just a great little tool.

                                          Wonderful machine
                                          I had been considering this tool for several years, and finally several tasks around the house made it seem worthwhile. The thought was correct. It cut down some branches of a Boxwood quickly and precisely, then took on a dead holly. Easy to use with a good load of power.
