Hi - The difference is in the amount of Fill Fabric contained in each kit. The Small Kit has a 4" x 36" roll of fill fabric and the Large Kit has a 4" x 60" roll.

I used outside to prevent chipmunks going up the gap on the corner channels of vinyl siding. Stuffed material up the "hole" then use clear Silicone. Placed silicone on a 3 inch putty knife, then pressed up on the material to apply and spread . It held perfectly and silicone did not drop down. Apply a few coats. Can't be seen and it is perfecltly level with the bottom of the channel. Great product.

WILL THIS HELP IF THE MICE ARE ALREADY IN YOUR HOME?

Asked by RENEE December 5, 2019

Answers

Hi Renee - Xcluder won't help with mice already in the house but will help make sure that more don't get in. We'd recommend snap traps for any mice that are already in the house and using Xcluder Fill Fabric to seal up any small gaps and openings that they might be using to get in. When you're looking for potential entry points remember that mice can get through a very small opening. A good guide is that if the eraser end of a pencil can fit in the hole, so can a mouse.

The fabric is meant to fill small cracks and holes. Larger openings can and should be closed with screen, wood, or other materials.

How many holes can this fill

One bag filled several 1 1/2-2 x 3 x 4 inch tunnel openings under a door threshhold, and one tunnel under my stairs about the same circumference, but the length was as long as a broom handle. The first time around, I didn't put anything down to hold it in place, and they pushed it out and continued to party!! The second time, I packed it in and sealed the areas with about an inch of concrete to hold it in place. Problem solved. Be sure to wear gloves when using it.

Is it OK to put around copper heating pipes?

Yes. That's one of its main uses.

Xcluder was exactly what I needed for plugging weep holes to keep out insects of all kinds. But kitchen shears cut it better than the included titanium scissors

worked as advertised! was catching 4 - 6 mice a week in my basement. They were getting in where several electrical wires entered and exited the building at the sill plate level Caulking was a physical problem. This product fit the bill for ease of placement. I also used it to seal the gap between the the brick veneer and siding at the corners and at locations where the outside vinyl corners were open at the bottom. Haven't caught any mice in weeks.

I thought this product was somewhat pricey but changed my mind when I received it and saw it comes with decent quality gloves and scissors that are needed for installation. I've used steel wool in the past for plugging cracks to keep mice out of the house. This stuff seems far superior. Stainless and with heavy reinforcing strands. We'll see if I got all the cracks.

I have pillars holding up my front and rear patio roofs. The builders used 4 X 6 post and trimmed them out with same material used for house siding. This left an 8" by 1/2" gap at the top of the pillar that wasp were making nest in. I used this product to plug that gap after spraying wasp killer. I was able to cut the 4" wide product in half to make 2" wide strips of 8" long and stuff them into the gaps. The material is difficult to cut but easy to work with using the special scissors and gloves included in the kit. I was able to use on my house and two of my neighbors pillars. You may only need the 36" small kit.

As winter approaches the mice always try to find a warm place in our home. We used this rodent barrier in all the places where they tried to gain entrance in the past. This barrier material is easy to work with because is fits in any shaped opening.

Did as expected. Same material was used by a contractor for exclusion services. I decided to try on my own. Used clear silicone to make a permanent bond at bottom of gaps going up on vertical surfaces (sideing J channels). Great product. Wear those gloves as manufacturer recommends and provided with the package!!!!
