Q:Has anyone rigged this to pull/drag things like logs? I realize it sounds like a hold my beer moment but I?m genuinely curious. I live on a steep mountain property and would use it to move relatively light weight trees (lodgepole pine).

A:Â Yes it move backwards. Everything is great but the transmission...it is sticky, doesn't always engage, really very frustrating, but other than that, work horse. Be sure to tighten all bolts and screws, especially on shifter. I put lock tight on nuts/threads on undercarriage as they kept coming lose. You can dump as you go backwards, if you have somebody control the dump deck while you drive...too hard to do otherwise.

A:Â Dear customer, model YD8203 will not meet your needs, but model YD8105 can, when you move backwards, you can adjust the dumping angle at any time. Thank you,

A: In my opinion what you want to accomplish is something you can finesse with this excellent piece of equipment. Because the track barrel has a reverse gear and the front panel can be adjusted out to create a gap to allow some gravel out, yes I know gravel would flow down and trough the gap. It wouldn’t take long to get the hang of it. I love my track barrel and consider it my best investment for use around my sloping acre and third.on a hill. I have moved gravel, bricks, blocks, dirt etc with ease. Starts up with first pull every time! Wouldn't want to live where I live without it.

A:Â You cannot control dump angle or reach dump handle when moving. Â When loaded it takes strong effort to lift dump bed. Â You can then back up and let load empty as you move but will spread over only a few feet. I built a high wall plywood bed insert with easily removable dump gate so I could fully load the bed and still be able to get the gate off to dump. Â It works great with full heavy load but not designed for controlled dumping.
by|Aug 10, 2022
A:Â Yes it has a reverse gear on the handle so you can dump the load while moving backwards at the same time.
by|Aug 10, 2022
A:Â You would have to make adaptors for the rear gate. If you do that it you can open the rear gate about 4 inches, be careful of the weight of the gravel when you tilt it up could cause the adaptor that you made to fail. Hope this helps

Q:Can the bed still be fully tilted a.) with the entire plow installed and/or b.) with the front plow bracket installed? Thinking in terms of moving gravel and then pushing it around with the plow.

Beast mode
I purchased this to move logs I cut down for fire mitigation up steep, mountainous terrain that wasn't accessible to truck or tractor. I've since moved cords of wood with this thing. Steep, rocky, loose, off camber...Track barrow don't care, it just gets it done.
I also bolted on a zero turn hitch using the plow mounting point on the front. From there I connected a tow strap and have skidded logs with her in reverse! Works shockingly well.
All in all, a fantastic, fairly priced machine deserving of 5 stars. Love it.

a 5th star after I give it a good beating
I put it together by myself in about 2 or 3 hours. Instructions were clear if not completely accurate. Hardware was on cardboard which made up for the inaccuracies in the instructions. I made this video https://youtu.be/s1vyRqk2CbM

I have only had it for 3 weeks but so far it has functioned as I wanted. I have a steep hill covered in loose rocks that my tractor will not climb pulling a load of firewood. The Trackbarrow had no problems with the hill. So far there has been no issues with construction quality, it seem well built and rugged. The only issues I have are, it sometimes is a little hard shifting gears, requiring double clutching and the brake levers are too far from the handles for my wife to drive it.

EASIER THEN A REGULAR WHEEL BARROW
Shipping sucked! Was told it would be in between Feb 1-4, but on the 3rd they moved it to the 5th. on the 4th they moved to the 8th. I called Home Depot (Warrenton, OR) on the 8th and they told me it is on the trailer being delivered on the 8th, but most likely will be ready for pickup on the 9th. A manager got involved and just arrived after I hung up with them. Packaging was outstanding. 390+ lbs so a trailer or a open bed truck would be best to pickup with. Just have to attach the handle bars with 6 bolts which required a 6mm & 9mm Allen Wrench (not included) and a 13mm wrench X2 (not included), the lifting handle 2 bolts and the bucket. This machine is going to really save me some back pain when retrieving firewood or re-rocking trails. I just wish the front was attached to the top so you could dump without removing the front panel. I will be posting a product review on Facebook under Willapa Harbor Drone if you would like to see a detailed overview of the YD8203. It was pretty easy to put together after I tossed the instructions since the numbers in the book didn't all match the numbers on the enclosed parts package. Glad there were only a few parts.

Have used the YardMax about 5 times now. Each time about a 4-6 hour duration. I am using to haul logs and limbs. I am carrying the items up a pretty step hill and have use it in the mud. So far it has done great. Step up not too bad. Mine actually came with oil in the engine (most do not). I have attached a picture of the items i have moved up the hill.

This Trackbarrow is phenomenal, I am 84 years old and live on a lot that has 100 ft of elevation change with undulations and up to 45 deg slopes. This unit allows me to tend to my lot, grapes, fruit trees and cleanup. It will hold on any slope which neither my tractor or Polaris will so I can work from it and rest on it when needed. The tracks go over obstacles without a problem. Fantastic. I had two pine trees fall and it helped clean them up with no problem. Photos attached.

5 years ago I bought my YD 8205
One of the best purchases i ever made. I work it hard. Its still going strong. It levels out th hills. Holds about 2x wheelbarrow. I prefer it to a riding tractor which costs much more. Its easy to repair and maintain. Ive hauled rocks, logs, concrete, generstor, welder... I could go on!
