Did Yale fix the battery issue? Since I had to replace the battery every day, I removed it, and kept it in the garage cabinet, waiting for the issue to be fixed.

              Buggy app. makes YRD420 Un-usable
Went through the time and expense of installing Yale Assure Lock 2. When it was time to use it, you need an app. (ok downloaded it from Play Store). The app. was buggy from the start (kept failing to pair. Eventually, got past that point and was time to upgrade the buggy firmware, but guess what? Firmware was to buggy to upgrade? Customer Service response? Tradebyour Android phone for an i-Phone. We think that could work. ...returning it to HD now!!!

                Terrible product
Yale locks since April 2023: recurring issues like random master code erasures, guest code failures, screen blackouts, no battery status alerts, Wi-Fi disconnections. Yale app struggles with code deactivation during time adjustments. Frequent battery replacements. Seeking alternative solutions. Do not waste your $$$

                  Not Recommended - Technical Issues
I was able to set up the lock using Yale’s iPhone app. A couple hours later, I go into the app to add a guest code & I cannot. I call tech support, and after about 15 minutes of troubleshooting, the rep goes on an extensive hold. When he returns, he apologizes and says they are having technical issues with their side & suggests I use the key to the lock in the meantime. What’s the point of having an electronic lock if they have outages & require you to use a physical lock?

cannot afford to replace battery everyday
Yale is a very good lock company, but introducing this smart lock did not come up to the Yale Standard. For me, the lock works fine as expected, but I have to change the battery every day, which is not feasible.

Do Not Purchase This Lock In Coast Areas
I have purchased my second of Yale lock after the first lock failed. I have an Airbnb near the beach and my lock did not stand up to coastal weather conditions. My locks were under a deep cover so that they were never exposed directly to any rain but the coastal salt air caused the locking mechanism to rust in less than 18 months. I would not recommend this lock. I wish someone had told me and I followed the advice. I wish they made the lock with stainless materials.

                        Excellent!
This assure smart lock was extremely easy to install and very user friendly. The instructions were very easy to follow and it took us less than 30 minutes from start to finish. We were changing an existing lock so not mayor drilling was needed and everything fit the existing holes. It also comes with 2 different sized for the bolt and the option to remove certain plates to adjust for size. The app is also very user friendly and being able to unlock the door with your phone is a plus. You can also send codes to visitors so they can access your home when you are not there.

                        Locked out on day 1
Purchased two of these as well as the z wave modules to use WiFi. Battery drain is crazy fast. After about 10 lock cycles the battery is at 15%. Left the house, came back, lock is dead. Initially thought the included batteries may have been weak so I replaced with new Duracell batteries. Went out of town for the weekend, came back, lock is dead again. Removed the z wave modules and verified the firmware is up to date. Total of 6 days of ownership, I’ve used 3 sets of batteries. No go for me!

The key in not having to use a key any longer to our new entry door key free touch screen deadbolt lock. Love the easy and convenience entry point.
This front keypad in black with a satin nickel trim deadbolt single cylinder looks and works perfectly either with the touchpad code or with bluetooth access. Follow the quick start guide before you do anything. Secondly make sure to install the Yale app. Do not insert batteries until prompted by the app. A fairly easy install to our cottage front door entryway. No need to worry about keys with this easy and fast access touchpad. The Yale smart lock exterior/interior lock, strike plate, key, adjustable deadbolt, mounting plate, four AA batteries, doorsense, template, reset pin, two security screws, four screws, two bolt set screws B,C,D are included in this kit. I really enjoyed using the easy to follow app that has step by step video installation instructions. A 15 to 20 minute process from removing the existing deadbolt to installing the new Yale touchscreen deadbolt. So exciting and convenient in not having to hassle with keys anymore. We love it.

                          Locked and loaded
The Yale Assure 2 is a solid choice for anyone who wants to remotely, and reliably, operates a lock. The installation is fine, as long as you download the app and follow the instructions (download the app, then use the QR code on the side of the batteries compartment, not the other way round). If the bolt lock that you are replacing is standard, it should be a seamless transition. If it is not the case, be prepared for drilling holes, measuring, re-measuring, re-drilling, etc. Once installed, I had to tinker a bit to get the calibration approved but since, it's been great. A minor item is that I wish there were no Yale button, which would make the process a little bit faster and intuitive. So far, everything is working including wifi, the app, etc. The finish "sleek old" oil rubbed bronze is very pleasant. I do recommend.
