Very disappointed
I ordered this vise on line, since it was not available in the store. After I picked up the vise, I took it home and attempted to use it. The vacuum unit was defective, as the vacuum would not hold the vise secure for more than 15 seconds on a non-porous surface. I even tested the vise by attaching it to a plate of glass. Same problem. This product should never have left the factory, if it went through the proper quality control at Yost.
I returned the unit to the store, and ordered a similar vise, from Bessey. This vise worked like a charm. I attached it to the same surface as the Yost vise. The vacuum unit held for three days before disengaging. The price on the Bessey vise was a few dollars more than the Yost.
