High Visibility Vises conform to OSHA Specification # 1910.144 - Safety Color Standards. High Visibility All Steel vises are economically priced for various less demanding applications. The entire vise is constructed using structural cast steel. The bar covers the continuous rolled main screw. Each vise is equipped with replaceable hardened steel serrated jaws and built-in pipe jaws. The 360 degree swivel base features two (2) lock downs. Each vise is painted safety yellow alerting of potential pinch points.

A: Yost 908-HV: Base hole diameter is 0.625” or max hole diameter is 5/8”D if there is no dross in the casting. Out of safety I would purchase ½” hex head bolts. Yost 910-HV: Base hole diameter is 0.625” or max hole diameter is 5/8”D if there is no dross in the casting. Out of safety I would purchase ½” hex head bolts. A: Yes, pipe capacity of 0.75” – 2.25” OD.

A: Yes, there is a pipe jaw that is below the main jaw. It will not grip a 3/4 sch40 pipe unless you remove the main jaw insert. The pipe jaws are not removable.

I wanted as good a vise as possible for less than $100 to use in my home DIY workshop. A vise that would stand up to most, but not an excessive amount of "abuse". This Yost fits the bill. It can rotate 360 degrees. It has a covered main screw. It has a reasonably high clamping strength (4200 lbs.). It operates smoothly. It is heavier than you would think from its appearance. I installed it on the workbench using machine bolts. It is painted a very bright yellow. One reviewer called it "pretty". Don't know about that, but it certainly stands out.

This is a very well made, lightweight vice....perfect for a small shop or homeowner garage. It actually came with a an extra set of "slip-over" plastic jaw covers for when you are working with material you don't want scratched or marred. I am well pleased with the construction, weight and flexibility this vice offers.
