is it safe to use on ceramic tile or do you have to worry about it taking the glaze off?

Asked by MarioD October 19, 2020

Answers

You should not use CL on glazed ceramic tile. It can remove and/or dull the tile and also cause changes to the grout. Use a vinegar and water mixture and soft bristle brush if necessary.

will this work on pool coping?

Asked by Munoz August 9, 2020
1
Answer

Well, while it would remove deposits ?, It would also likely remove the finish from your pool tile. Furthermore, contact with chlorinated water will release chlorine fumes which are deadly. The simple answer is no, do not use it in your pool.

Would it be safe to use the mixture in a spray bottle? It would be easier to apply.

Asked by Halfton57 August 9, 2020

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry. The Zep Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover contains a very strong acid. It is not advisable to use in a spray bottle. Fill a plastic bucket with the Zep Calcium, Lime & Rust Stain Remover and warm water, and apply the mixture with a brush or sponge. Allow the mixture to penetrate stain for 5-10 minutes, then rinse surface thoroughly with water. I hope this information is of help. Can I use this to clean my washer machine

Asked by Goldie March 22, 2020
1
Answer

Although I haven't tried I can't see why not. If I use it on tile that has grout in between, the grout would be much more porous than anything inside a washing machine. If you have calcium lime or rust build-up it sounds like a fantastic idea. I don't think I would use it all the time as it may dry up any of these silicone rubber fittings but I can see why an occasional use wouldn't be advantageous.

Is it safe to use in hot water tanks lime CLR ?

Asked by Mike December 22, 2019

Answers

The most simple answer is No, CLR is not safe for use with metal. You can try it but make sure you rinse thoroughly. A better answer for hot water heater is to drain sediment regularly and replace the cathode tube as needed.

Got most of the rust stains out. I pored the whole gallon on the rust stained cement then used a push broom to scrub it in. Then I pressure washed the cement. I think the hose would have done as well as the pressure washing.

Does not work!
We finally decided to tackle the hard water stains in our shower. After scraping, bleaching, and SANDING, we succumbed to the pressure of a harsh chemical to do the job. The instructions say to put it 50/50 with water and apply it, wait 60 sec. and wipe. NO change. For tough scale, use full strength for a second application. No change. We even scrubbed after an application. No change. Seriously, I think that Scrubbing Bubbles did more. Don't waste your money.
